Kyren Ari Stills

Hello there my fellow Roleplayers!
Sorry for the delay but "Mr. Rodeo" had too much personality for just one month! Anyways lets kick him to the curb now and welcome our newest and most anticipated character, Mr. Moody himself,

Kyren Stills

From the words of our lovely Sui, "Like a true Cancer, he is moody and reserved!"

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

True this young man is rather rough around the edges. Far from your "friendly" average highschooler. Secluding himself majority of the time Kyren immerses his attention and talent into his sketchbook. However his stoic aura is shaken only when his adorkable little sister, Emma is in his presence! If your lucky (very very very lucky) when she shows up you may even see him crack a smile. And who knows he may even have a smile that makes girl's swoon! But it's usually gone just a quickly as it appeared.

Okay, lets just get it out of the way and say this boy has an undeniable sister complex! Unwavering in fact! After loosing their father at a young age Kyren promised to protect her in his Dads place. He spends the majority of his time making sure Emma is happy and healthy! Also for her own good he battles to keep the Samo strays far away from her. Now Kyren isn't ALWAYS, as his creator may claim, a Drama King! He can be very compassionate and more than willing to treat you as family if he finds you trustworthy and you become close enough with him.

So, some advice when crossing paths with this eyeliner wearing teen. Keep your loud antic to yourself they certainly don't impress him (just ask Lena)! Keep sugar out of his reach, it makes his do very very bad things! ;) && Don't and I mean DON'T touch his sister!
Follow these simple rules, and you might survive!

Now off to the Interview! This one should be a HOOT!

Okay, so we know that over the past several months there has been very little activity in the roleplay! But really that wasn't the intial point in creating this forum in the first place.
Rai Island is what brought us all together. It's our home away from home, so to speak! We are not just a Forum full of gifted and creative writers . . . however a place full of wacky and crazy friends ;)
A place where we are creating unforgettable memories!

Even though we are constantly changing and still knee deep in finding ourselves in the world; we know that through the tears that fall and the smiles that grace our faces we will always have each other! Because no matter where our lives take us, nothing will change so much that we are not all friends still!

&& We will always have RaiIsland to come back to! Our Island ♥
Okay, okay enough of the cheesiness!
I love you CRAZY ladies!

The last of his self-control slipped out of his grasp at the sound of his name on her lips. In a split second, she was in his arms and any cries of protest were swallowed by his hungry mouth as he ravaged hers without a thought. Celi's lips were plump, thick and sweet. They were also surprisingly yielding and opened without as much prodding as he'd originally thought he'd need. Her tongue fought his for dominance, but ultimately lost when his hands desperately caressed her everywhere. Not a spot on her body was left untouched as he gave in to the need to fill his hands with her.

His hands sliding down her sides, they curves under her rear and pulled her up his body. His heart was pounding loudly, the blood was rushing through his veins and Celi was in his arms. He was pressing her back against the wall now, senses overloaded and wild with desire. Somehow, he worked his way between her legs and was grinding against the thin lace of her black panties. Each of his hands had grabbed the offending undergarment and started to pull, which didn't have much chance against the fighter. It started to tear in his hands, when all of a sudden, the phone rang.

It all happened too fast for her to comprehend, his hot mouth on hers, his rough hands caressing seemingly every inch of her body, Celi had no chance to protest as he dominated her in almost every sense. She couldn't help but moan into the rough kiss, her arms ~which had been prone at her sides in shock~ moved to wrap around his neck, her hands fisting his thick curly hair. But even as her body gave in, her mind was at a conflict. She had to make him stop! This wasn't right dammit! But damn, it felt good! His hands caressing her, it was so easy to feel them through the thin lace, and his unyielding lips captured every unconscious moan and gasp she made. Celi was having a hard time thinking straight as her mind continued to haze over in pleasure.

That is until the sudden shrill of her cell phone ran out.The unexpected load noise snapped Celi out of her daze, causing her to pull back from the kiss with a startled gasp.

"I...I need to get that" She stuttered out, though she made no effort to move, instead leaning forward against John's shoulder as she tried to catch her breath, the continuous ring of her phone reverberating in the background.

Her words snapped him out of his lust-driven haze and he blinked at her before his eyes widened in a shocked realization. They had only met a few hours ago and he was about to show her just how well he could live up to his stage name. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem. But Celi hadn't scouted him out for mindless - but gratifying - sex, she had come to him to hire him to model her new clothing line. And here he was, about to make the poor girl bow legged without so much as romancing her first. Not that he was an expert with all that lovey-dovey bullshit, but still...

    He wasn't a monster either.

At least not the kind that took advantage of young women whose parents weren't home. Celi was a beautiful girl, no doubt about that, and it was all too easy to lose himself with her. If he wasn't careful, he'd end up losing control like he just had. Honestly, his actions just now were borderline rape and that was not something he wanted showing up on his criminal record. Not that his previous arrests were anything to be proud of, but rape was against his morals. He didn't NEED to stoop to it, he could get laid easily.

Slowly, the muscles in his arms relaxed and he let her body slide down his, her legs still wrapped around him. It was a very intimate motion, and despite the fact that it wasn't a good idea, John couldn't help the guilty pleasure. After all, a man had needs. And he was going to have to ignore his needs until he was certain that Celi wanted to get intimate with him. He had to force himself to let her go so that she could go answer her phone. It would give him the chance to reflect on why he'd nearly ripped her clothes off and jumped her.

If Celi had had her head up, she just might have seen John's look of shocked realization, followed quickly by a slight look of guilt and remorse. No doubt something that would have sent her into another tirade of ~possible~ misunderstandings, confusion, and depression, only leading the two of them into even more trouble then before. But as it was, her head was still buried in the crook of his neck, her breath coming out in slight pants as she tried to calm down after the unexpected rush.

Slowly, she felt his arms relax around her, letting her slide down from her higher perch up against the wall. The intimate action caused a shiver of pleasure to shoot up her spine, making her hands clench the back of his shirt as she slowly, and carefully, lowered her legs to the floor until she was standing upright again. Although, it took her a few second of leaning against him, trying to slow her rapid heartbeat, before she finally moved to go answer the phone, the slight moisture she felt between her legs was being dutifully ignored for the time being.

With a quick press of a button, she silenced the annoying ring that had interrupted them, finally answering whoever it was that bothered to call her so late at night. The way she saw it, if they were willing to call so damn late and bother her and her "guest", then she could take her sweet time answering the blasted phone. "That's my story and I'm sticking with it"

    "Hello?"

    "CELI! O.M.G! YOU'RE ALIVE!"

The sudden yell in her ear caused Celi to pull the phone away with a jerk, glaring at the tiny piece of plastic ~or rather, the idiot caller on the other end~ with fiery indigo eyes for nearly deafening her. She quickly switched the call over to speaker phone so she'd at least keep some of her hearing intact.

"Yes, I'm alive and nearly deaf thank. you. very. much! Now what do you want Gala?"

"Sheesh, take a chill pill girl friend! You said you were going to that dirty and dangerous blood box to find some wild man, so of course I was worried sick about you! Who know's what those thugs could have done to you!!"

"I'm fine Gala. I got in, met the guy, and now I'm home. Now is that all you needed or can I hang up now? It's freaking late you know"

"YOU MET HIM?! O.M.G. Did he hurt you?! Did he rape you?! Do you want me to come beat him up?! Cause you know I so will if I have to girl friend!"

"Gala, you couldn't beat someone up even if they were in a coma. And he didn't do anything, in fact, he's done nothing but help me out, he even agreed to work for me"

"NO WAY! HE AGREED?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! And F.Y.I. Ouch! That really hurt Celi!"

"Yes I'm serious and get over it! It's true and you know it. Now will you stop screaming in my ear? I'm about to go deaf over here!"

"Fine, fine, no need to get your thong in a twist. I was only asking"

"Gala, seriously, unless you have anything worthwhile to say, I'm hanging up"

"Ok, fine, be that way! But our mani-pedi night is SO off this week!"

    "GOOD-BYE Gala!"

With a tired sigh, Celi hit the "End Call" button, effectively shutting up her flamboyant friend and saving her poor ears from anymore abuse. Gala was a great friend and design partner most of the time, but he really knew how to get on her nerves when she wasn't in the mood for it. Like calling her at midnight when she was busy with....John. "Oh boy, I got another mess on my hands don't I?" That certainly was the understatement of the year if she'd ever heard it, Celi had actually temporarily forgotten about what had transpired between them due to the annoyance that was Gala, but now she clearly remembered just how.....hot, things had gotten between them only moment ago.

Nervously turning back around, Celi regarded the man before her with a look of uncertainty, unsure of what was going to happen now. He certainly seemed attracted to her if nothing else, but other than that, she hadn't a clue what was going on in his head. Heck, Celi didn't even know how she felt about him or all this for that matter! Shouldn't she be mad or freaked out or something right about now?! But as it was, the designer was more uncertain than anything else. "Just what happens now?"

As the guilt of John's actions weighed down on his mind, he dragged a hand through his hair. Just what the hell was he going to do about this? The two of them hadn't really gotten to know each other in the traditional sense yet, so who knew if she actually liked him or not. Sure there was an attraction there on both of their parts, that much was plain to see, but how far did it go? He wasn't sure he could answer that question yet. And if he couldn't answer that right now, how could she?

Suddenly the very loud conversation Celi was having with her 'friend' interrupted his thoughts. Particularly, the offer to beat John up, coming from a voice that was rather...flamboyant. At this, he quirked a brow. The voice on the other end of the phone - Gala, as the designer had said - was obnoxiously loud and obviously gay. John wasn't even remotely surprised, but didn't care. What was he going to do, whine and slap him? Why should he show any interest in who his new employer (and perhaps more?) was friends with? Her friends and teammates would probably piss themselves if he so much as farted in their general direction anyway.

No, he shouldn't be thinking that way. He was one of the oldest of the Wilder boys and needed to act like it. Maybe it was time to try to warm up to the people of Rai Island and let them know that he really wasn't such a bad guy after all. That he enjoyed giving his youngest siblings piggyback rides and loved camping in the woods with his family, sitting around a camp fire and cooking the fish they'd caught earlier that day while singing and playing guitar. Or that he and his family could often be found berry picking in the warm sunshine on a weekend. Or even that he'd let his kid sister draw pictures of ponies on his arms and stomach with her washable markers when she thought he needed to be cheered up.

Screw that. If people heard about any of that, they might use it to their advantage and try to get to him by going after his loved ones. No, if they wanted to think John was a violent, dangerous hooligan, then so be it. He was used to showing that side of himself to the general population. He could stand being a bit nicer to Celi and her sister, but he wasn't about to be Mr. Nice Guy in public. Not yet anyway.

When Celi finally hung up the phone, John nodded towards her with slight unease. "Look, I kinda lost control back there. Sorry if I scared you." John admitted sheepishly, "Are we still good?" Damn, that's twice in one night. The arena fighter noted with chagrin. Twice in one night that he had to apologize for his actions... he wasn't doing so hot, after all. He was going to have to back off and just wait if he wanted to find out how either of them felt about each other. Patience had never been his strong point.

"Yea, we're good" Celi said, smiling a bit at John's apology. Truthfully, she hadn't been scared at all of what just happened, uneasy and uncertain yes, but not scared. John had done absolutely nothing to make her fear him so far, and something like this wouldn't make her scared of him either. She did however, feel slightly more at ease about the whole thing now that one of them had broken the ice, but it was obvious that they were both still rather unsure, and thus, awkward with each other again. "We just can't seem to catch a break, can we?" It seemed like, even after only knowing each other for few hours, that right when things were starting to go smoothly for them, something happens, and they're back to the awkward apologies.

And as sweet as it was that he was willing to ask for forgiveness, take the blame for all that just happened, Celi knew she was partially to blame too. After all, she had teased him quite a bit before changing, and what she had changed into hadn't helped at all either. "I should apologize to you too. I teased you, then changed into this" She motioned to the lacy number she still wore. "And that probably did nothing to calm you down" Not to mention, it wasn't as if Celi did anything to stop his advances either. She could have easily pulled back, shouted at him to cut it out or something, but she didn't. Admittedly, the designer knew it was because she had actually enjoyed him kissing her, practically ravaging her, and even though it could have easily turned into something more, she didn't regret it at all.

Which begged the question, why didn't she regret it?

Celi instantly shook her head of the thought once it popped into her head, she was tired of trying to figure out her emotions and actions concerning the dangerous Wilder. They hadn't even known each other for a whole day and already it was giving her a headache for one reason or another. Right now all she wanted to do was get them back on track, or at least, back to feeling comfortable around each other again.

"It would probably be a good idea if I changed out of this, huh? Maybe into a police uniform?" She lightly joked, hoping to lighten the mood some. "I'm sure I have one lying around here somewhere"

At least she was willing to share the blame. Her admission that it was partially her fault as well made him relax a little and he shifted into a relaxed stance to mirror his calmed nerves. "Well, thanks for not stickin' me with all the blame." John said, the corners of his mouth tugging upwards a little, "You're right though. That outfit really set me off. I didn't even notice what it was until you had it on, and then... well, you know." He gestured with his hands, but didn't elaborate. It wasn't as if he was a sparkling conversationalist after all. "But maybe you should change into some sweats. Y'know, so I won't jump you again."

"What if I want you to jump me again?" The thought had entered Celi's mind before she even realized it, and she quickly tried to block it out once she fully comprehended the thought. Oh dear lord, she couldn't really have wanted, still wanted, that could she?! But the light blush dusting across her face ~along with the previously ignored moisture between her legs~ told her right away what she had, and still, wanted John's touch. She was immediately grateful that he had decided to back off, if he didn't, she wasn't sure what would happen now. And she desperately hoped that he didn't notice what she was currently thinking through her blush. "Damn you hormones!"

Celi immediately decided that changing was, indeed, a very good idea right now. "Uh yea, I'll go do that real quick" She quickly located a simple top and shorts, making a beeline for the dressing room without looking his way, and almost ~but not quite~ slammed the door behind her, before collapsing against it. Just what the hell was up with her now?! She really needed to clear her thoughts or she'd end up saying ~or doing~ something this time that she couldn't take back.

It was only a few minutes later when Celi reemerged from the dressing room, this time decked out in a camisole and shorts. The simplest and closest outfit she could find in her flustered state, but lacking a certain article of clothing that she ~once again~ forgot to pick up. "So how's this? Better?" She hesitantly asked, trampling down any embarrassment, and feeling marginally more herself, although now more fully aware of what the man before her could do to her, and just how she might react.

Her decision to change into a camisole and shorts was a far cry from what he had suggested, showing far more skin than was good for him right now, but at least it would help. And the time it would take her to change clothes would hopefully be enough to calm him down enough to control himself. Think unsexy thoughts, think unsexy thoughts... The combatant repeated the mantra in his mind over and over again, willing his discomfort and arousal to go away.

By the time Celi was done changing, he was relaxed enough to lounge comfortably against the couch. She walked out wearing a pretty, lilac camisole with lace trim and black shorts. And she was standing there with her lips still red and slightly swollen from his rough kisses, her hair slightly messy. She was also, unmistakably not wearing a bra - he could easily tell. Instantly, he wanted to tackle her to the floor and finish what he started earlier. John wanted to patiently explain that she needed to put more clothing on, but he decided to be a bit more blunt, "Shit, Celi! Are you trying to give me a boner? Because it's working."

Celi jumped slightly at John's unexpected outburst, her blush darkened as she turned her face away from him in embarrassment, quickly wrapping her arms around her chest. Dammit! Why'd she have to forget to pick up her bra before changing!? .....Oh yea, it was because she had been confused, flustered, and more then a little aroused. But it wasn't totally her fault! And he didn't have to go shouting something like that either! "I wasn't trying anything! I just changed like you wanted me to!" She shouted back at him, her temper flaring up even though she was still embarrassed beyond belief.

The young designer was so embarrassed, she didn't think she could even look at him now knowing that he was getting like that because of her, though admittedly ~and she really didn't know if this should please her or not~, she was rather flattered. "Stop that! What the hell are you thinking?!" She had just calmed herself down, she did not need to start feeling like this again! It was dangerous, and not right, especially since they had only just started getting back on track. "Although we might have detour again if his announcement is anything to go by"

"I wanted you to change into sweats so I could go back to talking to you without wanting to maul you." His voice was slow and carefully controlled so he wouldn't accidentally shout again, "It's really tough to do that when you're standing there looking like you just rolled out of bed and want to roll back in with me." By all accounts, he should excuse himself for the night, go home and take a cold shower. But that was easier said than done. From his spot half leaning, half sitting on the edge of the sloping sofa, John had gripped the edge with both hands until his knuckles were nearly white.

Not because he wanted to stay, which - admittedly - he did, but because he didn't dare get up. If he stood up from the couch now and let go of it, he'd tackle the girl and neither of them would get any sleep tonight. Plus, they'd probably wake her younger sister, who didn't know John. She could think he broke in and forced Celi into it against her will and then he'd have the cops on him. Knowing his luck it'd be Officer Nelson who'd show up and arrest him. That freckle-faced cop seemed to have some sick obsession for stalking him and his brothers all the time. Maybe it was a fetish or something.

His gaze was still locked on Celi as he remained rigidly in place, unwilling to budge an inch. The poor girl looked absolutely embarrassed about the whole situation and was unable to make eye contact. Good. At least she was as uncomfortable as he was. "Go on and put some more clothes on." John managed to force out through gritted teeth, then attempted some manners, "Please."

"Try anything and I'll hit you with a skillet" She muttered, her face still a bright red as she peeked a look at him from the corner of her eye. Her retort lacked its usually bite though, Celi was fast learning that she was becoming quite comfortable ~oddly enough~ with the Wilder both emotionally and physically. Something the young woman didn't know if she should be worried about this or not. And the threat of using a weapon ~read: a never been used cooking utensil~ was more for her own self confidence then anything, the rarely used item would have probably be useless against the experienced fighter even if she was serious in using it.

But Celi really didn't think it'd be good idea to test John's patience any longer ~plus he did say please~, so she quickly searched for something else to put on, something that, at least, would cover her better and not tempt the frustrated man any longer.

Unfortunately, Celi didn't really own any sweats, the closest thing she had to them was a pair of lounge pants, but those rode rather low on her hips......she really didn't want to know if that would push his resolve or not. The best she could come up with was a Nova Cari University hoodie, the fleece top didn't show too much of her curses so that was a plus, down side was that she couldn't come up with any bottoms to go with it, so she was stuck in her black short shorts for now. She hoped that this would be enough to calm him down.

    "How's this? Any better?"

At her threat of hitting him with a skillet, he rolled his eyes. "Pfft. You couldn't hit me hard enough to do anything besides break one of your fingernails." John muttered under his breath and watched as she pulled a Nova Cari hoodie on. Well, that took care of half the problem. The little black shorts she wore showed off her legs enough to earn her a look that said 'are you kidding me?'

"Yes, that's so much better now. I can't possibly get past those tiny little shorts of yours!" Was his sarcastic reply, "Except that I can. In fact, I could probably just bend you over and still nail you...while you're wearing them. You might wanna put some jeans on. Want to wear mine?"

"Dammit John! I don't need visuals ok?! And keep your pants on! You're not wearing anything under them!" She shouted back at him, trying to pull her hoodie farther down her legs with little success. Did he really have to go there?! She did not need an in depth description of what he could do to her in these shorts or a reminder that he had nothing on under his jeans!

"I'll just wear the damn lounge pants! If if he can't take that, then screw him!" Ouch, ok, bad choice of words. But she was going to change and he better not complain again! The irritated young woman picked up the black lounge pants with a huff, and headed straight back into the dressing room for the 3rd, no wait, 4th time. The low rise pants, as she predicted, just barely hung off her hips. And even the end of her hoodie ~which wasn't all that long to begin with~ didn't cover up the strip of flesh of her curvaceous hips. "Oh well, this is the best I got so he better deal with it"

"Alright, I'm not changing again, so you better be ok with this!" Her face still sported a slight blush, but Celi's deep indigo eyes glared back at the man fiercely, warning him not to complain again. The pout on her lips a tall-tale sign of her frustration both with him and this whole freaking situation.

"Oh, I get it. You're just scared of seeing me hard, aren't you?" The man chuckled as he watched her face redden with embarrassment. The fact that he didn't wear underwear was probably still fresh in her mind, since she'd seen him take his pants off twice already. He probably should take care to stop speaking in such a lewd way all the time, but he didn't give a damn if he offended people or not. Being politically correct was nothing but a bunch of bullshit anyway.

With a huff, Celi had gone back into her little changing room again and finally changed into a pair of black pants. Well, that was better. At least he could focus on talking to her without having the constant desire to take her right in this room. When she demanded that be okay with her latest outfit, he quirked a brow at her. Yes, he was okay with it. He loved that negligee, and probably would've loved tearing it to pieces, but he was 'okay' with this outfit. "So...what happens if I complain?" John asked, unable to help himself.

"You'd have something to say no matter what I changed into wouldn't you?" She asked him instead of answering. Honestly, Celi didn't know what she'd do if he complained again. Actually, scratch that, she did. She'd complain right back, yelling and pouting at him in annoyance, letting her heated temper get the better of her again. No doubt that would only influence John to continue teasing her. Something she hoped he'd get out of the habit of once they got to know each other better. "Pfft, yea right. Like that'll ever happen"

They needed a diversion from all this clothing talk, something to help ease off any left over tension from the whole changing fiasco. And hopefully, get them both back into better ~civil~ moods. "Look, how about we both take a break from all this work. That is what you had suggested earlier right? So.....how about we get something to eat?" Celi asked, hoping this would help them get back to better grounds with each other.

"Ah, don't get your panties in a twist. I was just curious." John said flatly, but was finally comfortable enough to stand up and talk to her. He took a few cautious steps towards Celi, looking her over closely as if he were examining every little detail, then moved to stand in the doorway. Getting something to eat wasn't exactly what he had in mind, but at least in would get them out of the workroom and away from all those clothes. Clothes that he'd probably start picturing her in.

Yeah. Food was starting to sound like a great idea. "I didn't realize you could cook." John was thoughtfully readjusting his jeans to make himself comfortable once again as he strode out into the hallway to follow her downstairs to the kitchen, "So, what are you going to cook for us tonight?"

"Who said I was cooking anything?" Celi asked, quirking a brow with an "Are you kidding me?" look on her face. She couldn't cook! Well not much anyway, the most the young designer could handle was maybe some eggs or instant pancakes, but unfortunately for them, they had used up the last of the eggs taking care of John's bruises. Not to mention she hadn't had the chance to buy anymore instant pancake mix yet.

"Just so you know, I can hardly cook a thing. So we'll either have to call for some take-out or check the fridge for something, but there's a pretty good chance there won't be much in there" Aside from some fruit or drinks that is, the Shiel sisters weren't all that good at stocking up on food, mostly because neither of them could cook very well. The most they had lying around were some simple quick fix meals that didn't take much work, or a heck of a lot of fruits and cereal, but Celi kind of doubted that that would satisfy John.

"Of course, we could always indulge in the gallons of ice cream we have lying in the freezer" Ice cream, and its many toppings and whipped cream, seemed to be the only thing the Shiel household actually had a surplus of. After all, what kind of girl didn't just love giving into temptation and scarfing down a quart or two of ice cream while watching some sappy romance movie?

A stunned look appeared on the combatant's face as he stared down at her. "You can't cook?" He asked in what appeared to be nothing short of horror, "And you want to call for take out? You can't possibly be serious." In two long strides, he was at the refrigerator and opening the door. Inside, there was some milk, juice, a few different types of fruit, butter, cheese, whipped cream and some energy drinks. Aside from that, it was fairly barren in there. It was painful to look at. Closing the door, he opened the freezer instead. Sure enough, it was packed full with gallons and gallons of different kinds of ice cream.

"How do you live?!" John nearly shouted. There was no meat in sight, no fresh vegetables that he could locate. In a search for any kind of food that wasn't dessert related, the man started going through the entire kitchen, searching all of the drawers and cupboards. Eventually, he found a loaf of bread. Turning back to Celi, he plopped it on the counter. "Is this really all you have?" He asked her in disbelief.

Celi was a bit shocked by John's outburst, just what the heck was that about? "Yea, pretty much. I don't get why you're so freaked out though" So they didn't keep much food in the house, big deal. She and Mimi were out of the house most of the time anyway, so they would always just grabbed a bite to eat while they were out. The small amount of food they had here was enough for breakfast, snacks, or late night meals, so they never really saw any problem with it.

"And I can cook a few simple things, but that's it. I only suggested take-out since I thought you might want some, I didn't know you had such a prejudice against the stuff though"

The Wilder stared at her in disbelief. No wonder she was so tiny! Years of malnutrition probably turned her into a waif or something. Pointedly shaking his head, he pulled a frying pan out of one of her cupboards and set it down on the stove. Then he fished the butter and cheese out of the refrigerator, grabbed the bread and put the items on the counter, along with some plates. He also grabbed a sharp knife and a butter knife, opting to hand the least sharp knife to Celi. Pulling several slices on bread out, he gave them to her.

"Spread some butter on one side of every slice." John instructed as he grabbed the block of cheese and started slicing it up, "If I'm your model, you need to keep me happy, right? Then you need to learn how to cook. And buy some real food, like meat, veggies, potatoes...shit like that. A home cooked meal beats greasy takeout any day."

Celi looked to John, then the items he had given her, then back to him in disbelief. Did he seriously want her to cook? She had just told him she wasn't all that great at cooking, and here he was, telling her to help him cook something! True, she wasn't nearly as horrible at the task as Mimi was, but still. Why the heck did she have to cook in order to keep him happy?! Plus there was a damn good reason there wasn't any meats or veggies around! Meats were impossible for Celi to cook, and veggies simply took too long for their busy schedules, they would only end up rotting in the fridge if she got any.

Still, despite her protests, Celi did as he asked. Spreading swipe after swipe of butter on the slices of bread. "It's not like we eat take-out for every meal you know, only when we don't have anything around here and can't go out to our usual place to eat. Besides....how the heck would I know what a home cooked meal is supposed to be like anyway?" It's not she or Mimi had ever really had one before, their parents never cooked, and Celi hardly considered some instant noodles or a bowl of cereal a "home cooked" meal.

"Learn." That one word had enough sentiment behind it to get his point across without making him elaborate. Wordlessly, he put a few slices butter side down in the frying pan, stacked some of the cheese on it and covered it with a few slices that were butter side up. Then he turned on the stove and fished a spatula out of one of the drawers. Pointedly, he handed it to Celi and closed her fingers around it. Instead of calling it good and letting her take over, however, John positioned her in front of the stove and held onto the smaller hand that held the spatula.

"Okay, I'm pretty sure you've had toasted cheese before, but in case you haven't, now you know how to prepare it." His voice was explaining as the heat from his chest and abdomen radiated enough to warm her back, "Once the bottoms have browned enough without getting burnt, you flip them to toast the other side." A couple minutes passed and they were ready to flip. John helped her flip the first one over, then left the other two for Celi to turn.

"Easier said then done" Celi thought. She wanted to tell John that, that this was all pretty new to her ~even though it was kinda obvious he already knew~, that learning how to make something that wasn't instant or from a mix was a completely foreign thing to the domestically challenged woman. But she didn't, or rather couldn't, her words were caught in her throat because he was so close to her. The heat from him seemed to scorch her back and hand, almost to the point that she wanted to move away, but she managed not too.

The designer had to try her hardest to concentrate on what he was doing though, to learn this simple skill from him to keep her mind off their current situation. But it felt so strange to have him so close to her again! The last time ~only moments ago~ was far more sexual than this, but this simple activity seemed just as intimate to her, what with his larger form seemingly engulfing her smaller figure.

Celi had to will herself to stay still and continue cooking the food that they had prepared. She was only thankful that he couldn't see her blush this time, or see her bite her lip to hold her tongue from saying anything she might regret. Carefully, she flipped the remaining two toasted cheeses, slightly moving back into John's presence to let him know she was done, even though it had her heart skipping a beat to doing so.

John watched wordlessly as Celi flipped the toasting sandwiches over, careful not to squish the bread with the spatula. When she moved back into his personal space he couldn't help but smile a little and ruffle her hair a little. "There's hope for you yet." His voice was teasing and full of amusement as he leaned over and shut the stove off. With a practiced ease, he slid the sandwiches onto a plate, then grabbed an empty plate and a sandwich. Without any hesitation and despite the fact that it was still hot, he took a bite out of it. A slight hiss escaped him from the temperature but he still grinned, "Now that's good. You didn't burn it or anything."
