Keylee had just gotten off the boat that had brought her to the island, surrounded by her sisters. Mehi was obviously nervous and she could tell her younger sister just wanted to go home, and Keylee leaned over and gave her shy sister a hug. "it'll be okay Mehitahelle," she said, in a confident voice. "you just need to relax and enjoy yourself..I bet you'll have more friends than you know what to do with before you know it!"
Mehi still looked unconvinced and she clutched her teddy bear closer to her chest as the salty smelling breeze played with the few strands of hair that had pulled free of her pigtails making it dance around her face. "I don't know Key," she said in her soft voice. "You know I didn't want to come..mom made me." she grimaced, her sweet face contorting into another expression altogether. "How can something this hard be good for me..." she said sounding worried. Just then Lali called out "Okay everyone grab your stuff and lets get to the house and unpack, I got directions, so lets MOVE!"
The small group of girls lugged the things that they could to Keylee's car and arranged to have the rest of their luggage delivered that evening. Thankfully they had been able to bring the car. There was simply no way Keylee would have left the white 1966 Porsche 912 behind. This car was her life and her way of getting around
She loved that car.
when they had finished loading up and everyone piling in, she quickly located the correct key, and slid in behind the wheel, and settled it into the ignition. As she made the engine come to life, she looked at her sisters. "we ready?" she asked. After getting confirmation hit the gas, guiding the vehicle easily toward their new home.
Keylee couldn't wait to start classes, and explore her and her sisters' new Island home. She also was excited to see Chepe again. She knew he hadn't been gone very long but she missed hanging out with him, after all he had been her best friend for the longest time. Not only that but at about the time his parents had died and he'd been shipped back to the island, she'd been about to tell him something that possibly could have changed their lives for good, and their friendship. Maybe that could still happen, but of course she would have to locate her friend first, and that could prove problematic as he had been back on Rai Island a few weeks by now. She could hardly wait to begin singing with him again like they had before, best friends on the beach, hanging out, splashing each other, and making music. Oh she had high hopes, and most of them hinged on promises her friend had made when they had said their goodbyes.
She tossed her long brown hair back out of her face, smiling with anticipation. Wouldn't Chepe be surprised to see her... She hoped he would think it was a good surprise, as she drove to the house Lali had bought over the phone with their mother's permission. After all, this was to be Lali's permanent new home, even if Keylee and her other sisters ever went back.
