Mehitahelle was really shy and she hadn't seen anyone yet who lived on the island, except for her sisters. Shifting her position so that she was lying on her back on the park bench with her knees bent, she sighed dreamily as she opened her eyes and looked up at the canopy of leaves overhead. Letting her fingers tap on the rich, dark wood of the bench, she thought about how her mom had decided it would be good for her to make the move to the island with Lali and Keylee. She blinked, trying to see through the hair that was being blown into her eyes, and she smiled softly.
She didn't know if it was such a good idea and she had begged her parents to reconsider sending her to the island. Because she was almost painfully shy with strangers and she had wanted to stay with the people she already knew. Her friends. She didn't know if she would be able to make friends here and she wondered if her parents planned to bring them home on their summer vacations. She knew she would probably have a hard time with speaking to all the new people who lived on the island, but she would have to make the best of it and try.
Mehitahelle set Boo down by her side and pulled a thick book out of the bag she had with her and started to read however she wasn't really reading...her mind was wandering into another daydream. Absentmindedly Mehitahelle turned another page in her book. After scratching her left knee she put her arm behind her head, holding her book one handed above her face.
