Kyren Ari Stills

Hello there my fellow Roleplayers!
Sorry for the delay but "Mr. Rodeo" had too much personality for just one month! Anyways lets kick him to the curb now and welcome our newest and most anticipated character, Mr. Moody himself,

Kyren Stills

From the words of our lovely Sui, "Like a true Cancer, he is moody and reserved!"

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

True this young man is rather rough around the edges. Far from your "friendly" average highschooler. Secluding himself majority of the time Kyren immerses his attention and talent into his sketchbook. However his stoic aura is shaken only when his adorkable little sister, Emma is in his presence! If your lucky (very very very lucky) when she shows up you may even see him crack a smile. And who knows he may even have a smile that makes girl's swoon! But it's usually gone just a quickly as it appeared.

Okay, lets just get it out of the way and say this boy has an undeniable sister complex! Unwavering in fact! After loosing their father at a young age Kyren promised to protect her in his Dads place. He spends the majority of his time making sure Emma is happy and healthy! Also for her own good he battles to keep the Samo strays far away from her. Now Kyren isn't ALWAYS, as his creator may claim, a Drama King! He can be very compassionate and more than willing to treat you as family if he finds you trustworthy and you become close enough with him.

So, some advice when crossing paths with this eyeliner wearing teen. Keep your loud antic to yourself they certainly don't impress him (just ask Lena)! Keep sugar out of his reach, it makes his do very very bad things! ;) && Don't and I mean DON'T touch his sister!
Follow these simple rules, and you might survive!

Now off to the Interview! This one should be a HOOT!

Okay, so we know that over the past several months there has been very little activity in the roleplay! But really that wasn't the intial point in creating this forum in the first place.
Rai Island is what brought us all together. It's our home away from home, so to speak! We are not just a Forum full of gifted and creative writers . . . however a place full of wacky and crazy friends ;)
A place where we are creating unforgettable memories!

Even though we are constantly changing and still knee deep in finding ourselves in the world; we know that through the tears that fall and the smiles that grace our faces we will always have each other! Because no matter where our lives take us, nothing will change so much that we are not all friends still!

&& We will always have RaiIsland to come back to! Our Island ♥
Okay, okay enough of the cheesiness!
I love you CRAZY ladies!

    First Date: Emma and Chuck

Post  Chuck Wilder on Fri Oct 26, 2012 8:39 pm

Chuck's red 1967 Thunderbird rode nicely from Valevay High School to Southside Samo District. It was the roughest neighborhood on Rai Island, housing the poorest natives and ruffians. However, unknown to those who lived in other districts, the people in Samo were fairly close-knit. It didn't take too long before they pulled up to an old, rundown one-story house with several vehicles in the yard. The white paint was peeling off the siding and the walkway had several cracks, but Chuck was out of the car and opening Emma's door for her in moments. "Welcome to my family's house. I know its not much to look at, but its home. C'mon, I'll introduce you to everyone."

When the two proceeded inside, they arrived in a modest living room with walls that were painted a pale blue and had obviously been patched several times. A large crack ran from the ceiling down behind a tattered brown sofa. Some of the furniture matched it, others didn't. A set of identical twins sat on the couch, each with a Nintendo controller in their hands as they played Double Dragon on a television set that was probably older than Chuck's oldest brother. A boy with short, curly hair was stretched out in the recliner and reading a magazine. A younger boy in a black hat usually worn by poets sat in the rocking chair at the window, sighing over the notebook in his hands, while the youngest boy in the room was playing with a pigtailed, plush-rabbit touting little girl.

Seated at the table was the familiar, intimidating form of Chuck's oldest brother, Terry. Emma had seen him before, when Prism Sunrise had first formed in Valevay's courtyard. He was currently engaged in a poker game with a dangerous looking guy who couldn't possibly be anyone other than John Wilder. A thin trail of smoke rose from his cigarette as his icy gaze fixed on his cards. Sitting at the table were two adults - the Wilder parents - and the opening of the door caught their attention. They both rose from their game and moved towards Emma and Chuck.

The two of them resembled wolves closing in on their prey, though they beamed with friendly smiles. Albert stood at a solid 6'4", his long dark hair pulled back into a low braid -courtesy of Joanna. He wore a biker's bandanna to keep the sweat out of his steely gray-blue eyes and his hair had already started to show a few strands of gray at the temples. He was a big, tough looking guy with the symbol for the United States Marine Corps - the eagle, globe and anchor - tattooed on his right bicep.

Elaine, on the other hand, stood at only 5'3". She had long, light brown hair that fell in waves around her short, but curvy figure. Having nine children would have probably exhausted most women or at least make them short tempered and irritable, but Elaine was neither. Her body was solid with thick arms and legs, showing how tough she actually was. Her green-blue eyes held a lively spark in them as the two of them approached Emma. "You must be Emma Stills." Mama Wilder's voice held obvious approval, "Welcome to our home. We're so glad to have you join us for dinner!"

Southside Samo District: the only district that Emma had been warned to tread lightly around whilst growing up, happened to be the one that housed the Wilder Family. True she hadn’t ever stepped foot on this end of the Island, let alone drove through it . . . still by the looks of the neighborhood it didn’t seem too bad. Not as pretty as the rest of the districts; there were patches of brown in most of the lawns that had still been recovering from the blistering summer heat and lack of rain or proper care. And just as Chuck’s own home had been most of the houses had cracks in the siding as well as paint peeling off in different sections. Stepping out of the car as Chuck opened her door; Emma thanked him flashing a coy smile in his direction responding to the comment he made about the appearance of his home. “It’s the people on the inside that counts! Isn’t it?” Giving him an encouraging wink Emma ducked down into the car leaning over the back seat in order to retrieve her book bag. Slinging the bag –weighed down by her text books- over her shoulders Emma followed Chuck inside trying to conceal her nervousness.

Entering through the front door Emma was honestly surprised at the vast amount of people that the small one story home could house. Taking a small glance around the rather crowded front room, she wondered if Chuck had tipped off his family that she would visiting . . . due to the fact that it seemed as though ever last curly haired adorable Wilder was present – as well as the far from soft looking intimidating ones. Out of all of the Wilder’s the one to catch Emma’s eye hadn’t been the intimidating one, nor “Mr. Romeo”- comfortably reclined on a living room chair, and not even the doppelgangers. It had been the smaller young pigtailed girl sitting on the carpeted floor - a cute stuffed rabbit that look as though it had been cherished for many years attached to her. Out of all the rumors floating around the Island about this family . . . somehow the mentioning (gossip) of you young female Wilder had never reached Emma’s delicate ears. And to think this whole time she thought the Wilder family consisted of only Sons. Had she managed to stay up longer the night of the storm –when she had asked him about his family- she might have actually known about the existence of a cute little sister.

Emma had only enough time to take a small glance around at the younger bunch of Wilder’s before her attention was pulled away towards the dining room, from where two of the four people around the table had started to approach them. Chuck’s mother and father . . . Seeing as Mr. Wilder was more than a foot taller than her –even if she was wearing heels- Emma had to look up at him. Nonetheless she was accustomed to it since almost everyone she had come in contact with at one point or another was taller than her. Now on the other hand Mrs. Wilder was a different story. So, Chuck takes after his mother. . . A soft smile spread across Emma’s lips as the lively woman approached her. This wasn’t so scary - Chuck’s parents were actually very warm and welcoming which helped Emma feel more at ease in their home. “Thank you very much. I’m glad Chuck invited me.” Emma responded a hint of her shy demeanor still noticeable in her voice though she had been trying very hard to overcome it. Dinner at the Wilder’s had been very tempting since one particular rumor about them had stood out in her mind. . .that of: Mama Wilder being one hell of a cook!

The smile that came across Elaine's face was white and dazzling as she brushed a strand of wavy light brown hair behind her left ear. "I'm glad Chuck invited you too. Its always nice to have company for dinner, especially when it turns out to be a nice young lady like yourself. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable honey, we're having pasta tonight. Its a certain dish I like to make, similar to eggplant parmesan, but with green tomatoes since we don't have eggplants." She explained, gesturing to the kitchen, "The water is on to boil, so dinner won't be ready for a while."

Al towered over both Emma and Chuck and grinned down at the two. He introduced Elaine and himself, then began pointing out his kids, introducing them to her. "There's Terry and John at the table." Al pointed to the oldest boys, John giving her a smile and nod while blowing smoke. The air from the ceiling fan dissipated it within seconds. Terry recognized Emma from Valevay's courtyard and grinned at her with a friendly greeting, then nudged John muttering for him to 'put that shit out'. The rougher-looking of the pair gave a small nod and rubbed it out in the nearby ashtray.

The notebook in his lap was opened to a page where he had drawn a picture of the girl that had captured his heart the other night. The picture was so incredibly detailed that it could have been a photograph. It was obvious where the artistic talent in the Wilder family was. For what must have seemed like the hundredth time (and it probably was) since Keith had returned from school, he sighed dreamily as he stared at the drawing of Mehitahelle. She was just so shy, so delicate, so gentle...just his kind of girl! A faint blush colored his cheeks as he imagined the two of them getting married at the church his family had always gone to. They would have the perfect wedding - him in a dashing suit and her in a gown of the purest white...

"Bongo? ...Bongo!" His father's voice snapped him out of his dreamy fantasy and brought him back to reality, "Should we, uh, leave you alone with your notebook?" Realizing that he was clutching the notebook to his chest as if he'd had a romantic bond with it, his smokey blue eyes widened and he sat it back on his lap. The boy reddened a little in slight embarrassment and he shook his head no, finally realizing they had company. "Um, hi." He said with an awkward, but friendly smile, "I'm Keith. Nice to meet you. These two on the Nintendo are Casey and Raph." Hearing their names, the boys paused their game and turned to flash bright smiles at Emma. "Hey there! You're pretty cute. Are you staying overnight with us?" The boys asked in unison.

Fred rolled his deep blue eyes and sighed at the twins. Classy, boys. Real classy. He thought to himself and flashed a charming smile at Emma. "It's nice to meet you, Emma. I'm Fred. What my brothers are trying to say is that we all hope you have a good time while you're here and we'd love to have you stay with us as long as you can." He explained to her, hoping to ease any tension the blunt question might have caused. He knew the boys were hoping she'd stay overnight at the house because it was always enjoyable to have girls over. He didn't blame them. In fact, the feeling was mutual.

All that aside, the sophomore wasn't stupid enough to flirt with her. Jealousy ran in the Wilder family and was a pretty common cause for many a fight. Despite the fact that Chuck was incredibly loyal to his family, Fred knew his brother wouldn't hesitate to break his nose if he made a move on Emma. The boys had an unspoken agreement not to make a move on each others' girls and none of them were willing to break that pact. So Fred did the next best thing. Nonchalantly he'd been studying her when she'd first come in and noticed Emma's gaze linger a little on Joanna. The little girl had unknowingly captured her attention. Bingo. The teenager thought to himself, seeing an advantage he could possibly exploit later. Maybe he'd lure Emma to the house with Joanna for Chuck ...for a price, of course.

He gestured to his youngest siblings with a warm smile and introduced them, "Bobby and Joanna over there love it when girls come over to the house." Almost as if on cue, the kids looked up as if just noticing one of their big brothers brought a pretty girl home. They both charged over to Emma right away, Joanna flinging her little arms around the brunette upon contact while Bobby raced over to Chuck. Considering how Keith had scolded Bobby for bluntly asking if he was going to have sex with Mehitahelle, he opted to be discreet this time. Or at least as discreet as a nine year-old could be. "Psst! Chuck! Are you two going to have sex?!" The boy whispered rather loudly to his older brother, though half the people in the room could hear him - including Emma. "Get outta here, Bobby!" The bassist frowned and shoved him back towards the television, "Go play a game or something."

There were so many Wilder’s and honestly it was a bit difficult to take them in all at once. Good thing Emma had expected this much and her memory was pretty remarkable. Remembering each one of their names wouldn’t be the problem…however keeping her face from turning a dozen shades of red that was a whole other issue. While the twin’s overnight invitation and Joanna’s warm welcome had been bit unexpected for the timid brunette, it had been little Bobby’s bold –not so discreet- comment that elected the first and brightest blush to flood her entire face. How do you even begin to answer a question like that!? Emma thought to herself while preparing a response, feeling the need to put the 9 nine year olds question to rest. “Oh, well…umm actually we are just going to study a little before dinner…”

Feeling the heat radiating from her cheeks Emma quickly turned her attention to the little girl that’d been connected to her hip. Kneeling down so that she was on the youngest Wilder’s level Emma flashed a friendly smile. “That had to be the best hug I’ve gotten all day! You might need to teach your big brother a thing a two!” She claimed sending a playful smirk in Chuck’s direction. His entire family had been very friendly and more than welcoming that any nervousness she’d originally entered their home with had already vanished. . . well most of it. Glancing passed Chuck towards the dining table that the elder Wilder’s where currently playing cards at, Emma had to admit that she wouldn’t want to run into John on one of his bad days – or in a dark alley for that matter. Not that she believed all of the inflated rumors about him, he was just …well, intimidating.

Eggplant Parmesan Pasta sounded incredibly delicious even if it would be shy an eggplant. Back home Emma –with the rare assistance of Kyren at times- would help out their mother by pitching in with dinner on the weekends while they were home from Valevay. Preparing a meal for three was child’s play compared to Mrs. Wilder’s job of making enough for 11 plus…8 of them being growing boys! “Well before we study I’d be more than happy to provide a helping hand in the kitchen if you need it Mrs. Wilder.” Emma offered setting her book bag down beside the table where it hopefully wouldn’t be in the way of anyone. Emma’s own cooking capabilities weren’t anything spectacular she had been far more interested in Baking. Not one to toot her own horn buuuut her sweets –aside from the cookie incident- were extremely tasty. You couldn’t really blame a 10 year old for misreading a measurement – even if she had added nearly a cup of salt to the chocolaty cookies she happily offered her unsuspecting brother.

At Emma's playful jab about hugging, Chuck wiggled his eyebrows at her and gave a good natured laugh. "I guess I'll just have to get more practice with you then." He tossed his bag down next to Emma's when she was heading into the kitchen and plopped down at the table with all the grace of a stump. His date/study partner was in the clutches of his mother now, and he knew better than to deprive the older woman of the opportunity of getting to know her. This left him at the mercy of his father and two older brothers at the table. Though they seemed to be playing a friendly game of cards, he wasn't foolish enough to fall for that.

The game was called 'Bullshit' and they wasted no time dealing him in. Since there were only four of them playing, they used one deck. Once all the cards were evenly distributed to each of them, Chuck was chosen to pick which number they should start the game with. "Umm...three." The bassist decided and tossed a card face down in the middle of the table. The game was on, and so was the interrogation. "Isn't that the girl who was studying in the courtyard at Valevay?" Terry asked right off the bat, "She seemed pretty shy last I saw. How'd you get her to come over?" But before he could start explaining, John cut him off, "She seems way too smart to be your type. Is she your tutor or something?"

Frowning, the short-statured Wilder tossed the next card on the pile when it was his turn. "Well, I did ask her to help me with my schoolwork, but I really like Emma. She's so pretty. And she's actually nice." Chuck said, smiling fondly as he thought about the time he'd already spent with her. "She seems really nice. Aside from Patty, no girl that you boys have brought home has ever offered to help in the kitchen, so your mother is probably having a field day with that girl. Poor little thing." Al chuckled in amusement as he threw a nine into the pile, face down. Well, he hadn't had a seven in his hand, but that was the nature of the game. If you don't have the card, toss another one and pray that no one realizes you're cheating. It was fine as long as he didn't get caught-

"Bullshit." Terry's voice stomped that hope out flat. Grabbing the pile, John flipped it over to discover - sure enough - it was a nine. In fact, there were a few other cards here and there in the pile that were off. Grudgingly, Al took the entire pile and added it to his hand with an overly dramatic sigh. This was going to be a tough game...

In the kitchen, Elaine was already readying three large, deep casserole dishes and spraying them with a non-stick cooking spray. The counter was loaded with freshly picked green tomatoes in several bowls that had just been washed clean. "Thank you so much for offering to help, Emma." The older woman said, pulling two sharp knives from the drawer and handing one to her, "If you don't mind, we'll start with the tomatoes. We'll slice them about half an inch thick and roll them in those Italian bread crumbs on the baking sheet over there. Then we'll pan fry them and layer them with my homemade spaghetti sauce and mozzarella."

Rolling up her sleeves Emma washed her hands before joining Mrs. Wilder at the counter. She was surprised at the amount of casserole dishes Chuck’s mom had prepared for a single dinner. That would make a lot of food – than again she did have to feed a small army. “Oh, you're very welcome.” Emma responded accepting one of the knives Mrs. Wilder had taken out. “I’m hardly a stranger to the kitchen. I try and help out my mother as much as possible when I’m on break from Valevay. Although, she has never had to cook such a large amount before,” Emma admitted pulling one of the many bowls of green tomatoes closer to her. Plucking a deliciously plump tomato from its bowl Emma begun to cut it just as Mrs. Wilder had instructed. Carefully . Though she knew her way around the kitchen the youngest Stills wasn’t known for being the most skillful person when it came to sharp objects. It would have been a disaster to cut herself within the first 10 minutes of meeting Chuck’s parents.

Finishing with the first bowl was no problem, though she didn’t “hold a candle to” Mrs. Wilder. Quite a few of Emma’s slices were either bigger or smaller than a half an inch thick while Chuck’s mom was basically a pro in the kitchen, her slices flawless. Moving on Emma began to dip her chunks of tomatoes casing them in breadcrumbs in preparation to be fried. “Mrs. Wilder - - -?“ Emma began stopping momentarily when she heard one of the older boys call out Bullshit! When the word had reached her ears the small brunette’s first instinct was that someone was upset – for why else would they use that word. A tad worried her head automatically turned to see what had promoted that language only to find that it was just an innocent game, Mr. Wilder reluctantly picking up the pile cards in the middle of the table. With a brief glance in Chuck’s direction, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips Emma returned her attention back to the baking sheet of Italian bread crumbs.

Blushing faintly Emma continued with what she had started asking, “Umm by chance are these homegrown?” Reaching out she retrieved one of the few whole tomatoes left giving it a slight squeeze. She highly doubted that they were store bought since the local supermarket didn’t have the best selection of produce unless you were willing to shell out the money for the organic selection. Upon pulling up to the Wilder’s residence Emma couldn’t recall seeing a garden of any sort, though had there been one it was most likely in the back. Setting the tomato back into its bowl Emma resumed with dinner preparations.

Ahh, she finally had a nice young lady in the kitchen with her! The kind of girls that her sons used to bring home were enough to put some silver in her hair and some wrinkles in her forehead with the way they acted. Tramps - that had been a good word for the lot of them. Many of which bleached their hair or wore clothing so slutty (or both!) that she wouldn't be surprised if most of those high school hussies had been planning on having sex with more than one of her boys. It had been a sigh of relief when Terry had started dating Patty and had asked her to marry him. The two were currently on a waiting list for a place to rent, so they'd postponed their wedding until they could move in first.

Keith... well, she'd never had to worry about that boy. He was the most openly sensitive out of all her sons and insisted that he was going to save himself for the girl he was going to marry. The only problem with that thinking was that throughout his childhood, he had asked several girls to marry him when they were old enough. That usually scared his potential brides away, but recently he'd brought a pretty young middle school girl home who he'd instantly fallen in love with. Surprisingly, the incredibly shy girl actually accepted and they agreed to wait until they were married to do anything. Mehitahelle was a nice girl, despite her tendency to blush and look away shyly. The girl was perfect for Keith, who was also fairly shy. Knowing them, they'd be too shy to procreate until they were at least twenty. For that, Elaine was grateful. Leave it to her twelve year old to be the most trustworthy of her sons.

John, Chuck and Fred were the ones who usually kept her on her toes. John was never one to keep a relationship for too long, mostly due to his bad reputation and his quick temper. Elaine could never tell if he was dating them or just scoring with them and eventually had given up on trying to make sense of his love life - or lack thereof. It was probably better if she didn't know. Then there was Fred. Now that was one clever boy. If he had any girlfriends now or in the past, no one knew. With his deep blue eyes and classically handsome looks, he had girls swooning for him left and right. Girls wanted him, boys wanted to be him, and many of his peers scrambled to his side to please him. Fred never seemed to do anything wrong or anything to make him look bad, but she knew what he could do.

Chuck, on the other hand, usually tried to bring his girlfriends home so that she could meet them, but it never turned out so well. Some of them weren't interested in meeting his family at all, whereas others willingly came, but were so self-absorbed that they weren't received in the best ways. Those girls usually acted as if they were tough and raised on the streets, as if trying to impress the ragtag family. That, or they would think that since they were pretty, they deserved praise and gifts. His last girlfriend was an awful, abusive skank-troll that clung to him and leeched his time, attention and money for quite a while. It was a common sight to see her battering him if she thought he wasn't giving her enough. Elaine's heart went out to Chuck - he always seemed like everyone's target. It wasn't his fault that he took after his mama height-wise.

But now it finally seemed like he picked right. Emma seemed like a wonderful, kind and smart young lady. And she was rather pretty, but in a soft, quiet way that didn't need to be shoved into someone's face to be appreciated. The brunette was dressed in a lovely outfit - a soft pink shirt with a pencil skirt and Mary Jane shoes - but it wasn't blatant or flashy. Emma was polite and likeable, offering to help her in the kitchen (which was an absolute joy to Mama Wilder) and didn't seem overloaded when meeting their whole family all at once. And the girl was one to help out her own mother to boot. That was always a good sign! Maybe her short statured son would finally find his luck changing for the better.

The look of pride on Elaine's face as she beamed at the soft spoken girl spoke volumes. "Why yes my dear, they are home grown. I have a lovely garden out back if you'd like to see it sometime. We have all sorts of vegetables like peas, beans, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, squash and beets. There's also some fruits such as strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, cantaloupe and watermelon. We even grow some rhubarb. And some flowers. But I'll take you out to see those another day. We have a bunch of hungry men out there with big appetites and a love of home cooked food." The older woman said with a laugh, placing the breaded green tomatoes into the four frying pans on the stove, where they started to sizzle.

Having put a hard day in at work with Terry as a contractor, the last thing John really wanted to do was interrogate his little brother, but the girl he'd brought home this time was different. For one, her hair and clothing were soft and demure, rather than flashy or super fashionable. Fashion had never been something he was interested in before, but now that he was working with Celi Shiel in his free time, he was learning a lot about it... whether he wanted to or not. Nevertheless, it worked for her and it made him think. For some reason, the fighter felt as if he'd seen her before, but he couldn't remember where.

It was obvious she was a native to the island and that she and Chuck were classmates in Valevay, but he swore he saw her before. Chuck was only a year younger than he was, so that meant Emma had gone to school with him in their youth. That meant it was possible that they might have had classes together when they were younger. Perhaps they might have even been friends? He wasn't sure. Chuck had had one hell of a time once he'd gotten to middle school. Some idiot that John and Terry had trounced decided that it was smarter to get a friend and go pound on Chuck instead of going after the two of them in a fair fight. Since Chuck was smaller and slimmer at the time, and had just gotten a new perscription for glasses, he was an easy target.

It was one hell of a beating. The image of the shorter boy stumbling into their house, bloody, battered and bruised was one John wouldn't soon forget. He'd been squinting through bruised eyes as he came in, clutching his broken glasses in one hand and pinching his broken nose tightly with the other. After they'd rushed him to the hospital and had gotten him fixed up, he'd mentioned something about being saved by a cat. When the morphine finally wore off, Chuck had clarified his earlier statement. Apparently a mangy tom cat had been nearby and his little brother had thrown it into his attackers face - where it promptly went bullshit.

While he healed, Terry and John went out and pounded all the thugs they could find, nicking their wallets afterwards up until they found the boys responsible. Those two were promptly beaten so badly that their families left the island out of fear. Once Chuck was out of the hospital, John and Terry used the money they'd liberated to get contacts for their brother. Since then, it was an unspoken rule to teach every Wilder how to fight. His height had made him a target, but he wouldn't let it stop him. He worked and trained his body day and night to make sure he was never caught so off guard again. John and Terry had readily helped him, being rather tough on him. Not because they liked to wail on him, but because they loved him and wanted him to be able to handle anything.

Now, as he sat across from Chuck, he could see how having to fight had shaped him. His five foot four body was solid and packed with hard, lean muscle. Tattoos covered up the scars left by knives and razor blades, preventing Joanna from seeing the raised or jagged cuts. It was hard to tell, but his nose was just a hair crooked from that first fight. John's eyes looked to Terry's much larger form and then to their father, but still saw the same signs. His own body was full of tattoos to cover up his own wounds as well. He knew Fred and the twins had gotten into scuffles, but so far, they hadn't felt the blade. Hopefully they wouldn't. It made their father protective, made Terry stern and made himself mean as hell to outsiders. How was it that Chuck could still be so friendly and outgoing towards people without thinking they're out to get him? He had been the easiest looking target after all.

Putting the past out of his mind, John frowned over at his short brother. "Hey." He murmured and caught Chuck's attention, "The code will always be honored." This simple phrase was muttered just loudly enough for the boys in the room to hear, and they all nodded in agreement. The bassist grinned at him as he threw his last card into the pile and all was warm and fuzziness, eatin' sunshine and shittin' rainbows. "But I call bullshit on your last card." John said pointedly, to which Chuck revealed the card was correct, meaning he'd won and John was stuck with the pile, "Shit!"

A look of amazement claimed Emma’s face as Momma Wilder listed off the vast amount of vegetables and fruits that were growing in her backyard. She couldn’t even begin to image how  a mother or 9 children (8 of them being rambunctious growing boys) had the time to tend to such a large garden all the while cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her younger children - as well as her husband. She was like Super Mom! And it was hard not to admire such a woman. “That sounds like amazingly massive garden.” Emma replied handing the last of her crumb coated tomatoes over of the Miss Wilder. “I’d love to see it, but I’d hate to make those big appetites wait any longer then they have to for dinner. So, I look forward to coming back.” A soft warm smile spread across Emma lips as she basically informed Chuck’s Mom that she indeed planned on returning to the Wilder home in the near future.

Gathering up the now empty bowls Emma thoroughly rinsed them along with the cutlery before setting everything aside to be washed properly. Drying her hands she approached the stove where the rest of the tomatoes were taking their turn in the sizzling frying pan. “So, what’s next?” Though Emma still planned on helping Chuck with his school work as well as finishing some loose end of her own work, she had more than enough time to help Mrs. Wilder finish preparing and filling the casserole dishes. Besides with a small glance over her shoulder she could see that there had still been cards on the table…though that hadn’t been what she had really been looking at. Needless to say her eyes wandered over to where Chuck sat, her deep brown gaze catching his before she shy turned away hoping he hadn’t caught her staring.

A knowing smile curved Elaine's lips as she watched Emma's gaze linger on Chuck. The bassist was currently hooting, snickering and generally rubbing John's loss in his face at the table. "You suck, John! Where'd you learn to play cards that bad? Are you pinchin' a nut and it's cuttin' off the circulation to your brain or somethin'?" Chuck teased, baiting his older brother as was the norm for anyone who won a card game in their family. Oh boy, here we go... The curly haired woman thought, shaking her head as she watched John.

True to form, John's already short temper wore thin quickly and snapped. "You little cock sucker! I'm gonna beat your ass so bad, you're going to have to have your little girlfriend do all the work when you guys finally f*ck!" And the nineteen year old sprang up from his chair, the motion sending it backwards. A split second later, he was charging over the table at Chuck, who'd also shot up from his chair. Al could be heard in the background, shouting, "Hey! Watch your fuckin' language!"

The commotion drew immediate interest from all the rest of the boys in the family and they all rushed over to swarm the table as John dove for his brother and knocked him to the floor. The rest of the boys (minus Keith) started chanting "Fight! Fight! Fight!" and pumping their fists in excitement. The two of them proceeded to scuffle and roll about on the floor, with Terry trying to shove himself between them. "Knock it off, you retards! We have ladies present!" The oldest Wilder son snarled as John and Chuck tried to beat on each other around Terry.

Elaine turned to Emma and gave her an apologetic smile. "Please forgive my idiot sons, honey." She said, giving Emma's shoulder a light squeeze, "I'll be right back." With that, she walked out of the kitchen and right over to the squabble, grabbing each boy by the ear. "Now now...dinner will be ready soon, so I suggest you boys settle your differences and make up." Her voice was sweet as her grip tightened enough to make them wince, "I think you boys should hug. Now." By the time she had gotten back to the kitchen to continue dinner, John and Chuck were hugging, despite looking like they wanted to murder each other.

The Wilder's homes atmosphere was in all honesty the polar opposite of the Stills; loud, rowdy, and packed full! Obviously not the prettiest house on the block (not that Samo was know for its "well manicured" homes) but it definitely the liveliest! For example, the scene that quickly escalated between the curly haired brunettes out of a simple and friendly card game! It wasn't the hoots and hollers of "FIGHT!" echoing off the walls that startled Emma. Nor was it their father's rather amusing cursing, while demanding that the boys watch their language. It had actually been the sudden onslaught as John propelled himself over the table at Chuck like a bullet! She'd never seen such a sight before . . . and to put the inappropriate cherry on top of it all, was the statement about the two classmates and some rather erotic bedroom manners!

"Please forgive my idiot sons, honey." Mrs. Wilder's apologetic voice and soft touch seemed to magically wash any uneasiness from Emma's tensed shoulders as she watched Chuck and John scuffling on the floor.  It felt like the calm and composed mother was assuring her that this was a normal everyday occurrence, and not to worry. Watching the ease in which Elaine had pulled the two boys apart - painfully by their ears-  was remarkable! Now they were even hugging! Maybe John wasn't the one everyone should be intimidate by...Mama Wilder definitely had some fire under that sweet motherly smile of hers! She could possibly be the scariest of all! It was quite remarkable!

Stepping lightly into the dinning room as the boys joyfully hugged it out, Emma helped pick up the chairs that'd been strewn about during the brawl of brothers! The petite brunette had every intention of returning to the kitchen to help with the final preparations for dinner, but first she felt an uncontrollable urge to double check and make sure Chuck wasn't too scuffed up by his massive brother.

"Is this what a normal night at your home looks like?" Emma inquired gingerly setting chair back on it's wobbly legs. A  slightly amused smile graced her lips as she continued playfully, "and here I thought you invited me over for a study tonight. If I knew there would have been a fight I might have placed bets earlier!" Gambling was definitely not something Emma would ever consider doing, but playful banter and teasing seemed to be second nature in this household, and she definitely wasn't above joining in.

Chuck's family had a rather contagious and fun attitude about things! The laughter was welcoming and enjoyable. Although there was a warm smile on Emma's face there was indeed something that she was completely certain of! She never wanted to get in between any of the Wilders physical squabbles after what she just witnessed!

The exact millisecond Elaine had returned to the kitchen, John and Chuck instantly shoved each other away with irritated glares at each other. Chances were they'd scuffle again later, but now was definitely not the time. Both boys looked a bit ruffled but they were so used to fighting that neither had landed a solid hit on the other. Realizing this, Chuck beamed over at Emma as she was helping to pick up the chairs and set them straight. "I'm definitely improving." He told her in a hushed voice, "John's a well known arena brawler and I can keep up with him better and better lately. He'd better watch out... I just might get the best of him someday soon."

"Don't be so sure, Chuckie." John warned his shorter brother as he balanced a cigarette between his lips while talking, "I was goin' easy on ya since you brought your girlfriend home for dinner. Didn't wanna make ya too ugly or she might dump your mangy ass." With that, the nineteen year old dropped comfortably into one of the recently uprighted chairs and fished in his jeans pocket for his lighter. Without missing a beat, Chuck easily replied, "Could be worse... I could look like you."

John's movement was so fast that a normal person wouldn't have been able to react in time. However, the Wilders were definitely not normal people. Terry, who'd been behind John's chair, grabbed hold of his shoulder as he'd shot out of his seat and slammed him back down into it. "Sit your ass down and behave John. You'll really piss Mom off if you ruin dinner." The eldest brother scolded in a low, dangerous sounding warning. His deep blue eyes stared intently at John, then at Chuck, "You too."

Chuck nodded in agreement as did John...with an added huff of frustration. It was hard to argue with Terry's stern, stubborn logic. The oldest brother often felt almost like a second father, having helped raise all his younger siblings. He'd held himself to a specific standard and tried to be a good role model for all his siblings. Terry was definitely someone who had a lot of patience but it wasn't infinite. He towered over most everyone he met and his muscular body was very imposing. He turned to Emma and gave her a gentle smile. "I, for one, can't wait to have dinner. Thank you for helping Mom prepare it."

Emma didn't bother to correct John on his previous statement about her and Chuck being in a relationship. Although she wasn't officially his girlfriend - (yet), the small timid brunette definitely wasn't against the idea. Even if her brother was. Oh well, after getting to know them surely Kyren would warm up to the Wilder Family. Emma could see that she was right not to let the words circulating the island scare her away, even if she'd only spent a few moments with Chuck's family. They were nothing like the rumors let on. Though the older ones were very intimidating they were also welcoming to her - a stranger in their home, even if she wasn't a physical threat. Emma was as good as a Chihuahua guard dog facing off with a burglar ! At best the worst she could really do was yelp!

"Oh! No, I enjoy cooking! I really should be the one thanking her for allowing me to help!" Emma responded, returning Terry's thanks with a warm smile of her own. Though that smile slowly faded as it dawned on her that she'd left Mrs. Wilder preparing the rest of the meal, alone... "Oh no! Dinner!" A little scattered at forgetting to return to the kitchen Emma immediately retreated back to rejoin Elaine, only to find that the dishes were already in the oven cooking. The only thing left to do now was wait.

Flecks of pink colored the small flustered teen's cheeks as she joined the boy's in the dinning room again. The chairs were now all in their proper places and the cards had been collected as well, tossed into a pile at the other end of the table. "Well, I am all yours now." Emma affirmed, settling into the chair beside Chuck. The meaning behind her statement was purely innocent and surely rest of the Wilder's at the table understood that . . . .

Despite the fact that Emma's affirmation of being finished in the kitchen was completely innocent, a huge grin flashed on Chuck face ...and his brothers' faces too. Immediately a chorus of "oooh" rang out, followed by kissy noises, wolf whistles and even applause! Well, with the exception of Keith, who was madly sketching a romantic picture of the two young lovers while his cheeks and ears were a deep rosey red. Even Al was waggling his eyebrows at the notion and murmuring, "Ah, to be young and in love so quickly..."

Chuck, obviously not bothered in the slightest by the lewd and perverse reactions from the males in his immediate family - rather, was thinking along those exact same lines considering the look on his face - simply took one of Emma's petite hands and pulled her from the table. "C'mon Emma, let's go out here in the garage so we can be" He turned to look at his brothers and emphasized "alone." Then he lead her through the doorway and away from the obnoxious hooting in the house.

It took longer than expected for Emma to realize that the explosion of  "Oooh!"(s), whistles, and to her surprise applause from Chuck's few testosterone fueled family members, were all in response to the comment she made. She'd sat in confusion for a good minute before repeating the words in her head again. That's when it struck her,   Oh. My. Goodness ! Embarrassed beyond belief the small brunette shrunk in her chair, trying desperately to disappear. However Chuck wasn't going to allow that!  Warm at the ears Emma brought her hand up in attempt to hide her discomfort, while Chuck had captured the other. Saving her from enduring any more kissy faces he lead her away from the jubilant group of males, and though the hooting wasn't as loud anymore the sound still carried through the door less frame.

Peeking out through her fingers Emma took in her new surrounding.  It looked like a garage, though there were a few instruments set up ready for a jam session! Also she could see that there were some small single beds (or what Emma presumed to be beds) along with a lonely hammock not too far away. It wasn't what she had expected, but she believed they were currently standing in someone's bedroom - possibly Chuck's since he had lead her here. Oh God! He didn't take her comment literally as well, had he?

In all honestly Emma wasn't really worried about being alone in a boy's room. Scratch that, she wasn't worried about being alone in Chuck's -possible- bedroom.Though it did make her heart race a little faster! After all it wouldn't be her first time, since she'd been stranded by a storm eventually staying overnight at his dorm once before. Chuck was normally a gentleman (With a sprinkle of Wilder Flair) with Emma, only stealing a kiss once before and she certainly hadn't objected to it. "Umm, sorry about that back there..." Emma managed quietly, still a little flustered. Slowly dropping her hand from her pink stained face while leaving the other within his warm grasp, Emma took a better look around. Her gaze lingering on the instruments before they returned to him, "So umm, is this your bedroom?"
