Kyren Ari Stills

Hello there my fellow Roleplayers!
Sorry for the delay but "Mr. Rodeo" had too much personality for just one month! Anyways lets kick him to the curb now and welcome our newest and most anticipated character, Mr. Moody himself,

Kyren Stills

From the words of our lovely Sui, "Like a true Cancer, he is moody and reserved!"

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

True this young man is rather rough around the edges. Far from your "friendly" average highschooler. Secluding himself majority of the time Kyren immerses his attention and talent into his sketchbook. However his stoic aura is shaken only when his adorkable little sister, Emma is in his presence! If your lucky (very very very lucky) when she shows up you may even see him crack a smile. And who knows he may even have a smile that makes girl's swoon! But it's usually gone just a quickly as it appeared.

Okay, lets just get it out of the way and say this boy has an undeniable sister complex! Unwavering in fact! After loosing their father at a young age Kyren promised to protect her in his Dads place. He spends the majority of his time making sure Emma is happy and healthy! Also for her own good he battles to keep the Samo strays far away from her. Now Kyren isn't ALWAYS, as his creator may claim, a Drama King! He can be very compassionate and more than willing to treat you as family if he finds you trustworthy and you become close enough with him.

So, some advice when crossing paths with this eyeliner wearing teen. Keep your loud antic to yourself they certainly don't impress him (just ask Lena)! Keep sugar out of his reach, it makes his do very very bad things! ;) && Don't and I mean DON'T touch his sister!
Follow these simple rules, and you might survive!

Now off to the Interview! This one should be a HOOT!

Okay, so we know that over the past several months there has been very little activity in the roleplay! But really that wasn't the intial point in creating this forum in the first place.
Rai Island is what brought us all together. It's our home away from home, so to speak! We are not just a Forum full of gifted and creative writers . . . however a place full of wacky and crazy friends ;)
A place where we are creating unforgettable memories!

Even though we are constantly changing and still knee deep in finding ourselves in the world; we know that through the tears that fall and the smiles that grace our faces we will always have each other! Because no matter where our lives take us, nothing will change so much that we are not all friends still!

&& We will always have RaiIsland to come back to! Our Island ♥
Okay, okay enough of the cheesiness!
I love you CRAZY ladies!

    Wilder House: Is John home?

Post  John "Rodeo" Wilder on Thu Jun 06, 2013 3:52 am

Though it hadn't been more than a few days since his fight at the arena and his trip to not only Celi's house, but her workroom at Nova Cari College, John was already back to working. His bruises were mostly faded by now, little more than dark yellowish brown blotches on his tanned, tattooed skin. His long curly hair was kept out of his face with a bandanna as he hammered nails through new shingles in the Uran District. As the blistering heat of the sun beat down on him, he simply ignored it, hammering with the beat of the music that flowed from the boombox his team had brought along.

He was grateful he'd decided to do this job, despite the discomfort of kneeling on a roof while wearing only a pair of jean shorts, his work boots, gloves and tool belt. His shirt had been discarded before he even got out of his truck when the weather report had come over the radio. But working long hours in the hot sun not only helped his family pay the bills, a portion of his money went into his savings so that he could someday move out and build his own place someday. But that was still a few months down the road at best and the work day was drawing to a close.

So he began meticulously packing his tools away, as did his team members, and started getting ready to go home. Hopefully, no one had needed anything from him today. His cell phone had been forgotten at home, still plugged into the electrical socket in the garage near his bunk. It had been taking a while to charge and he'd left without it, but didn't have enough time to retrieve it. Ah well, he'd be heading home soon and it wasn't as if it had been ringing off the hook all day...

"Why the hell won't he pick up?!" 5 hours, 5 long hours. That's how long Celi had been trying to get a hold of her "dear" friend, model, and the guy who fucking said that if "You need anything at all, call me up". Well then, why the hell wasn't he picking up when she needed him too!? Sure, she could write off the first 30 minutes or hour as him being busy, but people usually hear their phones if they've been ringing almost constantly for hours! "Does he even check his damn phone for messages?!" It was because of John's obvious lack of interest when it came to answering her ~desperate~ calls that the young designer was forced to drive all the way out to Southside Samo district to try and see if he was home ~or at least find some way that actually worked to get a hold of him!~.

Now normally Celi wouldn't be this ticked off over not be able to get a hold of someone, in fact, she'd ususally forget it if she didn't hear back from them in an hour or so, even if it was over something important. But this had not been her day, and not hearing a single word from John at all when she needed to get a hold of him ~quite badly if might I add~ was so not helping her temper one measly bit!

A dead alarm clock, a late start in the morning, the cat somehow eating everything in their fucking kitchen. Not to mention her "I can sleep through the end of the bloody world" sister wouldn't get out of her damn bed this morning. Add in getting pulled over not once, but twice for speeding, pretty much getting sexually harassed by the second cop to pull her over, having to deal with the secretary from hell once she finally got her sister to school. And oh yea, and let's not forget that once she got to the college she finds out she has until 3:30pm for her and her model of choice to meet with a Vogue ~yes I did say Vogue~ editor before she took off on the next flight to Paris!

Of course, on a normal day, this would be no problem at all since it was about 10am when she received this information. But today was not a normal day, and Celi couldn't for the life of her get John to answer his fucking phone! And oh god, it was already 3 o'clock too! So yea, Celi was not having a good day. And as soon as she got to John's house, if it turns out he wasn't at home, then she'd have to find herself a new model because the next time she saw that damn Wilder, he was so. very. dead.

But gleefully evil thoughts aside, Celi did her best to hide her murderous frustration at her MIA model as she walked up the cracked concrete walkway to the Wilder household. Apparently somewhere between her daydream of pushing John off a cliff into a pit of rattlesnakes and tying him to some railroad tracks in the middle of the Sahara Desert, the young designer had made it to the fighter's home with no major incidents. So putting on her best "I swear I'm not here to kill your son" smile, Celi rang the doorbell and braced herself for whatever was to come. After all, you never knew who'd answer the door at the infamous Wilder house.

The doorbell - or what was left of it - sounded like it needed to be put out of it's misery. A wiry, barely recognizable ding-dong warbled through the house and after a few moments, the door opened to reveal a short, beautiful middle aged woman with long brown curly hair and green-blue eyes. There were matching streaks of silver cascading from her temples, clearly visible with her hair pulled back. She wore a simple white tank top and a pair of 'mom' jeans and her feet were bare and dirty. There were age lines clearly visible on her face, but it didn't detract from her looks at all.

This woman standing in the doorway was the infamous "Mama Wilder" that the majority of Rai Island knew about. This petite, yet slightly stocky woman had given birth to every one of those misbehaving boys that raised hell all over town and then some. It was said that she had wanted a daughter so badly that she refused to give up, even after having eight sons, and was finally granted a little girl. Her looks were the envy of women her age and older, her voice was said to be that of an angel. And her cooking was rumored to be the undisputed best around.

But what people gossiped about most was her personality. Some people claimed she was a bad mother because of her sons' - illegal, more often than not - shenanigans, while others praised her for not having gone insane having to deal with boys like that. Her fiery temper was enough to make even some of the toughest police officers back down in fear of her motherly rage. But she simply stood in the doorway, looking as if she'd been in the garden for the last few hours and trying to figure out who this pretty young girl on her doorstep was. "Hello there." Elaine said easily, "Which one of my boys are you going to slap the shit out of? Whoever it is, he probably deserves it."

Celi couldn't help it, at Mama Wilder's curt ~but incredibly accurate~ response, the young designer was thrown into a tizzy of joyful giggles. Her hand quickly reaching up to muffle the rather unladylike snort she made, while her other hand held her stomach as she laughed. Of all things she had expected to hear upon arriving at the Wilder's doorstep, that certainly hadn't been one of them.

But she supposed it was better than some of the rumored "greetings" the Wilder's had become strangely famous for. ~Water hose to the face, frogs raining from the roof, John answering the door in one of his "bad" moods.....just to name a few~ But unexpected as it was, the small laughing fit did wonders by blowing away Celi's previous murderous aura, even if she probably did look more than a little hysterical to Mrs. Wilder.

"Ah, John actually" Celi panted out between giggles without really thinking about it, it was mostly the truth anyway. And it hardly seemed like Mrs. Wilder was upset. If anything, the robust but charming, older woman seemed used to girls showing up all but ready to tear into her sons throats for whatever deed they had done. She probably was actually, now that the designer thought about it. Outrageous rumors aside, those boys were well known for raising hell for the whole island for who knew how many years now. And most likely, more than one person has show up on the Wilder's doorstep ready to give the boys a good thrashing ~if they could that is.

"I had..." The college student started, only to pause to take a deep breath to calm down, before straightening herself and trying again. "I had been trying to get a hold of your son for some work I needed him to do, but he wouldn't answer his phone. He wouldn't happen to be home would he?" Oh god, her stomach hurt like hell now. But man, did she ever need that laugh! Still....it wouldn't do to keep looking like some laughing lunatic in front of John's mother, and she did come here for a reason after all. So it was best to see if John was actually here first....Y'know, before she went out on a manhunt for his head and all.

A sudden knowing look made the woman smile warmly at her. "Ah, so you're Celi." Elaine confirmed, "I was wondering who kept calling John's phone, so I took a peek inside and saw how many times you've called him. I also read through all his text messages when he leaves his phone on the charger like he did today. No, I'm sorry dear. All my hooligans are still out and about right now, but John's due home from a roofing job in a few minutes."

Despite not being able to send her guilty son out for the slap upside the head that was probably well-earned, the mother stepped back from the doorway and gestured for Celi to enter. "Would you like to come inside while you wait? I can get you something to snack on and show you humiliating pictures of my children while you wait?"

Re: Wilder House: Is John home?

Post  Celi Shiel on Wed Jun 12, 2013 10:40 am

The young designer smiled, gently nodding her head in acknowledgement as Mrs. Wilder correctly guessed who she was. Celi couldn't help but wonder just what the motherly woman thought of all the messages that had been sent between herself and her son ~there were quite a few of them~, or if she even knew what kind of relationship they really had. But the eldest Shiel daughter chose not to dwell on the matter for too long. After all, she didn't have a clue what John had told his family about her ~if he even told them about her at all~. And far be from her to question what goes on between members of the island's most infamous family.

"If you don't mind the intrusion, I would love to Mrs. Wilder" While it was disappointing to hear that John wasn't home when she needed him ~yes, he was still going to die later, this she swore~, Celi was more than happy to join his mother in some delectable treats and talk. Especially if it involved getting a good look at a scrapbook full of the dangerous man's most embarrassing moments too! So without further adieu, the young woman followed the Wilder matriarch into her humble abode.

Stepping inside, Celi had to honestly say, that the Wilder family's home was far different from the house that she and her sister Mimi shared Vepigo. For one, it was by no means as large as their own, the old one-story house probably wasn't even half the size the Shiel household. And instead of new, carefully coordinated decor and appliances, the Wilder's furniture was mismatched and random at best. The walls were patched in some places and cracked in others, rather than pristine and untouched. There were various items ~toys, instruments, and such~ scattered across the floor and around the room, covering up what should be a clear and clean flat. And it was clear as day that most ~if not everything~ that the Wilder's owned were second-hand goods, while the Shiel's probably didn't own anything that wasn't the latest or most popular items on the line.

But despite the small home being so vastly different than her own house, Celi couldn't help but think it was also so much better. Unlike the Shiel's, it wasn't just a place to come back to after a long day at school. To sleep or eat in, or a place to entertain or work. It was a home, a place that was always so full of life and love, even when the family that lived there was away. It was such a drastic and almost otherworldly difference compared to her own house, that it was no wonder John had been uncomfortable at her place when he had first come over. "Guess it's true what they say, bigger really isn't always better..."

"Sorry about the mess dear, I've been in the garden all afternoon and had errands to run this morning." Crossing the living room floor, Elaine led Celi to a worn old couch and directed her to have a seat. Surprisingly, it was incredibly soft and comfortable to sit on and there was an old coffee table with a couple Nintendo controllers, an ashtray and some magazines strewn across it. "Give me just a moment and I'll be right back." The woman promised and disappeared into the kitchen, only to return a couple minutes later with a large plate of soft, homemade chocolate chip cookies and two cups of cold pink lemonade.

Once she set the refreshments down on the coffee table, she retrieved a fairly large photo album from the bookshelf and returned with it, plopping down comfortably next to Celi. Opening it, she started with the baby pictures, which were all neatly placed together. Pointing out each child, she named them off in order of their birth - Terry, John, Chuck, Fred, Casey, Raph, Keith, Bobby and finally Joanna. Then came the pictures of John and Terry as toddlers, being rather large for their ages compared to the children they were pictured with. Another picture showed Terry and John as little kids, standing with their much shorter younger brother Chuck.

There was one with the four oldest boys wrestling around in the backyard while the twins, as toddlers, were attempting to shove Cheerios up their noses. Another picture showed Terry and John around nine and ten years old, in their underwear and towels tied around their necks, posing like superheroes - Terry in Superman underwear, and John wearing Batman. "Oh, I remember when this one was taken. The boys were so into crime fighting and justice... I wonder what happened." She chuckled in amusement.

Celi didn't know what was better, Mrs. Wilder's incredibly delicious, homemade chocolate chip cookies, or the down right hilarious ~but insanely cute~ pictures of the Wilder kids in their younger years. The two were quite evenly matched, if she had to say so herself. Gooey rich melt-in-your-mouth cookies straight from heaven, verses the darndest little bunch of cuties she had ever laid her eyes on!

But ultimately there had to be a winner, and the utter cuteness of John Wilder's cute little baby butt as he was sprawled out on a soft blue blanket had Celi swooning at the adorableness of it all, even as she also giggled over the fact that, yes, that was big bad "I will kick your ass" John Wilder sucking his thumb with his tush out there for the world to see.

"Oh my god, it should be illegal to have kids this cute!" The young designer let slip out without even realizing it, but could you blame her? There were pages and pages of little Wilders looking so dang lovable she just wanted to snatch them up and take them home with her, never mind the fact that most of them were already fully grown by now. Cecilia Shiel always did have a guilty pleasure of fawning over kids, she just loved to dress them up and spoil them rotten with treats and toys to their hearts desire, especially cute little darlings like these who looked so dang happy in every picture! "Dammit, I wish I had one!"

And looking through the Wilder family album was a mix of swoons and giggles for the young college student as Mrs. Wilder told her the back stories to some and made more hilariously blunt comments about others. Some pictures had her gushing over just how cute little baby Joanna looked holding a onto a old beat up stuffed bunny that was almost as big as she was, while others ~namely the ones that involved the boys, or more specifically John~ had her almost doubling over in laughter. The ones that really got her was the one that Mrs. Wilder pointed out, of Terry and John in nothing but their super hero underwear with towels tied around their necks, posing like crime fighters ~Celi was sure if she hadn't been paying attention she would have fallen off the couch from laughing so hard~. And a photo of John knee deep in mud, with nothing but a pair of shorts on. His little birdy boy chest was on display as he grinned up at the camera, several of his baby teeth missing and lying proudly in his outstretched hands. Never mind the fact that he was covered from head to toe in mud and looked like he just got out of a rough scuffle ~whether it was with his own brothers or some other kids, she didn't know~.

These pictures of a little scamp, looking for trouble and having the time of his life while doing it, seemed both similar yet a far cry from the imposing but kind man she knew today. He was still a rough houser ~an even bigger one today in fact~ and always seemed to be looking for trouble just so he could get his own kicks. But this scrawny little boy had none of the tight hard muscles the fighter had today, or any of the serious battle scars either. And despite the tremendous joy she got out of looking over John's cute and embarrassing childhood photos that almost ~almost~ made up for him forgetting his phone and missing all of her important calls, Celi couldn't help but feel sorry for the little boy who had to grow up to be an ass just so the big bad world would leave him and his much loved family alone.

Elaine smiled warmly as Celi chuckled and fawned over the pictures of her kids, the girl's anger seemed to be calming down. The likelihood of John getting smacked was far less now. That was always a good thing, because the boy sure had his mother's fiery temper. Speaking of her children, they should be getting home at any minute now...

As if on cue, the door swung open and Keith strolled inside, his backpack slung over his shoulders and his sketchbook clutched to his slender chest. Following him immediately was Joanna, clinging tightly to her huge stuffed bunny and Bobby looking like he just got away with something. Once they were through the door, Casey and Raph strolled inside, chuckling about some joke and playfully shoving each other. Fred followed after the twins, talking to Terry about the chords and timing in a song.

A few moments later, and the door was still wide open, with nobody bothering to close it. At some point, a stray dog wandered into the house and Keith brought it a bowl of water and gave it some of his leftover lunch he hadn't finished. About five more minutes passed with the door open, then the familiar sound of John's beat up old truck was heard whipping into the driveway.

Moments later, he sauntered into the house, his skin browner than the day before and tinged with a little red. It was obvious he'd been working all day as he was still hot and sweaty. Spotting Celi sitting with his mother on the couch with the photo album in her hands made him quirk a brow. Great. His mother had decided to embarrass him. That meant Celi must've been upset with him for some reason. "Hey." He greeted her casually, lifting a calloused hand to the magenta haired beauty.

"Hey yourself, caped crusader" Celi teasingly greeted back, motioning to the adorable picture of John in all his super hero glory with obvious amusement. "Never would have pegged you as the type to fancy super hero underwear" The designer simply couldn't help but rib on the fighter for that, not only because "Mr. Commando" himself used to wear honest to goodness clothes back in the day, but it was pretty much the only highlight of her day so far. Not to mention, the chance to pick on her favorite model was something she always enjoyed...But even if it was said with the same teasing cheer she usually had when with the dangerous Wilder, it was hard for her to hide the cloudy storms in her otherwise merry violet eyes.

Sure, admittedly, Celi wasn't as mad at John as before. After being placated by Mrs. Wilder with delicious sweets, funny stories, and embarrassing pictures ~not to mention the spectacle that was the Wilder family parade~ you could hardly blame her for not being as furious and murderous as she was when she had first arrived at the Wilder home. But now that John was actually here, her previous mood couldn't help but try and make a stealthy re-appearance...

It was seriously annoying too, because she wasn't even really "angry" anymore! Annoyed, yes, they had missed a golden opportunity today ~Vogue's front page, need I say more?~ More than a little frustrated too, since her work had been delayed because of all this. But more than anything else, Celi felt a little....hurt, that John couldn't keep his word. She knew it was silly and irrational, he had forgotten his phone for crying out loud! Yet...it still hurt. The older Shiel had been beyond overjoyed when he had given her his number, and truly touched when he said all she had to do was call and he'd be there.

"But I did call and you weren't there, so what would happen if it really was an emergency?"

Celi mentally sighed as this one thought replayed in her head like a broken record. She knew it wasn't completely John's fault, she knew she was being silly and irrational, she even knew that even if he had said that, he wasn't obligated to come at her every beck and call! ...But broken promises, and the hurt that came with it were nothing knew to the magenta haired woman, and even she wanted to, she couldn't let it go.

John knew that look only too well. Well shit, just got home from work and already Celi was upset with him. But anger? No, she wasn't mad at him. Even if she had been, he could deal with anger far better than what he was seeing in her expression right now. She looked disappointed, hurt, and that was something even John couldn't stand seeing.

He crossed the living room without sparing a thought to what any of his siblings were doing - or to the front door, which remained open - and took hold of Celi's delicate hand, pulling her up from her seat. Elaine, deftly caught the photo album as it slid from her lap. She knew full well that her son realized he was the cause of the girl's frustration and disappointment. At least he had the sense to try to patch things up with the pinkette.

Leading her into the garage, which also doubled as the room he shared with Terry, he turned to Celi with a serious look on his face. "I'm not really sure what I did wrong, but I can't stand having you look disappointed in me." John said in a no-nonsense tone, "Whatever I did, I'm sorry. And I wanna make it up to you."

Re: Wilder House: Is John home?

Celi simply stared at John for a moment, her mind wandering as she took in his words and serious visage. Under normal circumstances, she'd be putting up a fuss at him for suddenly dragging her away while she had been sitting with his mother, huffing at him in false anger, telling him how rude it was, didn't he know a thing or two about manners!? But as it was, the designer was in no mood to put up the usual facade for the sake of normalcy, and judging by the look of things, neither was John.

Mentally, the designer sighed to herself. She knew it was stupid, incredibly ridiculous in fact, to be upset with the Wilder when he hadn't even really done anything wrong. But after having spent years, brokenhearted because of broken promises....and from the people who were supposed to be closest to her too....Celi just couldn't beat back the old demons that always liked to resurface to remind her of that pain.

    "It's exactly the same"
"They're nothing but empty promises and apologies"
    "Those promises were meaningless"
    "Those apologies are all lies"
"You should have never believed in them in the first place"

Those haunting whispers of past heartache made Celi visibly wince in pain, she hated thinking about them, hated how even after all these years she still hurt inside from all the broken promises and lies she faced as a child. Just remembering those days...remembering how many times she had been heartbroken over and over, only because she couldn't stop herself from foolishly hoping that this time would be different...had her unconsciously taking a deep, shuddering breath to hold herself together, to keep herself from breaking down like she had so many time as a child alone in her room.

But...looking at John as he stood in front of her, and how serious he appeared as he declared he'd make it up to her, even though he had little idea just what he had done wrong, reminded her that he never once caused her any pain, never once made her cry. He wasn't anything like them. John was rash and rude, headstrong and pushy, but....not once, not ever in the short time that they knew each other, had he ever hurt her in any way.

It was that comforting thought alone had her suddenly and wordlessly closing the space between them. She ignored the fact that he was still in his work clothes that were dirty after hours of working on rooftops, or that his skin was still hot and sweaty from being out in the sun all day. Or even that he probably had no clue just what she was thinking as she wrapped her arms around his muscular torso in a tight embrace and buried her face in his chest. Her only focus, her only goal, was seeking comfort from the one person who she could trust to help her. "Just like he said he would..."

Though he still wasn't exactly sure what the problem was, John could tell when someone was struggling with some inner turmoil. Whatever it was that he had done had triggered something painful from her past and it had obviously upset her enough that she was acting this way now. He wasn't sure what that painful thing was. He wasn't sure if Celi was going to tell him if he asked her. And he sure as hell didn't know what to say in delicate situations like this without completely mucking things up.

So he just held her. Silently wrapped his powerful, tattoo covered arms around her and held her close to his body. It was as if he were wordlessly telling her that everything was going to be all right, that he would make sure of it, and that he'd keep her safe. He wished he could give her strength just by willing it but he didn't know how to tell her. John had never been good with showing his tender side, particularly because it made him feel so vulnerable.

Kind of like he was feeling now, with the magenta haired beauty in his arms. The two of them standing there, clinging to each other for support nearly raised a red flag for him, but he relaxed. He was at home and Celi was here. They were safe from prying eyes and nosy townsfolk. Absently, John noticed his hand had been stroking her hair. When did that happen? It didn't really matter. All that mattered right now was the young woman in his arms.

Though it was only for a moment, to Celi, it felt like they had been standing there, holding each other, for a lifetime. Her pain, her sorrow, the nightmares of her past, all seemed to simply drift away as John held her securely in his strong arms, showing her ~without the need for words~ how he'd keep her safe from harm. His very presence healing her beaten and broken heart and soul better than any medicine ever could.

If only, a small part of her dreamed, she had had his presence ~his security, his caring~ in her life sooner. "How different things might have been..." How much better, happier, her childhood might have been if she had had known John years ago. But Celi knew that no matter how much she wished John had been there in her youth ~protecting her from harm, and being the stable rock he now was in her life~ such things were better left as wonderful "what if's" to dream about. Because no matter how much better her childhood might have been, or how much happier it would have made her growing up, Celi knew she'd never trade how things had turned out for the world.

"Because I have him now and that's all that matters" She thought pleasantly, giving his chest an absentminded kiss in silent thanks for his very presence in her life now. Celi may not have had him in her life when her childhood was close to being a living hell, but he was with her now and even though she had only known him for a short time, John had already become a necessary part of her life. Something that she knew she would always be grateful for, no matter what anyone else had to say about it.

"He may be hardheaded and rude, and likes to push me around even when I'm busy working, and tease the hell out of me just so I'll get mad, but I really wouldn't want him any other way" Because even if he was a well-known troublemaker who was just as famous for tearing up the town and keeping the local police on their toes, as he was for his prowess and ruthlessness in the ring or on the streets. The designer knew she couldn't find it in her to fault him for any of it. Because, that's what made him the man she knew, and secretly cared for. The only man she could really and fully trust to have her back when things got bad.

With one final, deep calming breath, Celi lifted her head to look up at the man holding her, a shy but satisfied smile dancing on the corners of her lips. He was probably thoroughly confused by now, she figured. It wasn't everyday that he had to deal with this side of her since most of the time his teasing and playful attitude kept her in a good mood, nevermind how much she openly complained about it. But still, even though he had no clue what was wrong, or just what was going through her mind right then, he'd still held her and kept her safe, stroking her hair in his own silent reassurance that everything would be ok. And for that, she was grateful. "Hey John...Thanks...I needed that"

Whatever it was that had been bothering her seemed to have been eased away by simply holding her. As her body relaxed against his, a small smile curved his lips. Women were hard to understand sometimes, but the answer to their problems could be simple after all. Especially in situations like this. Frankly, John was rather pleased that he didn't have to try to comfort her verbally. He'd always felt himself lacking when it came to being particularly social.

But as long as Celi could take comfort in him, he felt accomplished. It was yet another thing he could add to his list of difficult tasks he could take care of. As the lovely fashion designer raised her gaze to his and thanked him, he grazed his rough thumb across the smooth skin of her cheek. "Y'know, if you're still needin' some more comfort, you can always spend the night here with me." John suggested cheekily, nodding towards one of the beds in the old converted garage, "I know it's a smaller mattress than what you're used to, but you can share with me."

At that, Celi couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle. "Leave it to John to ruin the mood" But really, what could she expect? She had probably pushed his "touchy feeling, girly, lets-express-our-emotions-and-junk" button a bit too much already. Hell, she was honestly surprised he had lasted this long without making some kind of sexual innuendo or at least feeling her up! "He gets some brownie points for that, but he definitely lost some by ruining the mood" She thought to herself, inwardly snickering at the passing thought of telling him just what those points were worth in her book, and what he could have expected in return.

But quickly shaking her head in amusement ~at both his "subtle" invitation and her own treacherous thoughts~ Celi pulled back from the fighter's tight embrace and looked up at him with a teasing grin. "Your "generous" offer is very tempting...but I did just meet your mother today, and I'd rather not have her think of me as one of you usual escapades" She said as casually as she would during any of their usual flirtatious banters, although the mischievous twinkle in her eye gave away just how tempting the combatant's offer really was.

Still though, Celi would rather not end up scarring the young minds of his more innocent siblings. And while the designer had an inkling that the Wilder matriarch wouldn't think of her as one of the usual skanks that seemed to swarm around the attractive fighter on a regular basis, at least, not if Mrs. Wilder's early treatment of her was anything to go by. Celi really didn't want to tempt fate. Especially, when it concerned the mother of the Wilder family.

"Usual escapades?" John asked, quirking a brow at her and crossing his now empty arms. There was still a slight warm from her and he wanted to keep it close, without making it obvious. "I'll have you know that there ain't no 'escapades' goin' on. Not since you first showed up in my dressin' room at the arena."

He knew Celi had just met his mother just now and was sure she didn't want to make a bad impression, but he didn't particularly care who thought what. Well, hey... he could come up with a different solution. "Since you don't wanna stay here with me, does that mean you'd rather take me home with you?"

"I must say I'm surprised to hear that, considering the amount of offers you get on a daily basis are rather legendary according to the rumor mills. And I can't imagine that turning all of them down could've been easy for you" The designer relied slyly, an amused smiled gracing her lips at the tidbit of information he had just given her.

So the infamous John "Rodeo" Wilder, breaker of heads and hearts, hadn't had any callers since she had shown up? The rosette had to say she was quite delighted ~and flattered~ to hear this news. If the happenings at her college were anything to go by, when she had spotted a group of his fans as they were leaving for their date, then the older Shiel was rather possessive of her favorite Wilder to say the least. And to say that it always left a sour taste in her mouth when she thought of how many other females threw themselves at him, wanting to have a first hand experience with the dangerous man himself, was a huge understatement.

So to hear he'd actually been turning away what she knew to be many offers of nightly fun, and because of her no less, well...it seemed like the fighter had earned back those brownie points without even realizing it. "How lucky for him..." Celi thought to herself, a secret grin slipping to her lips. She may just have to reward him for that.

"I suppose we could go to my house, since the plans I had for today didn't go exactly as I had wanted, we may as well try to work on a little something else instead"

John smiled at her, relieved that she was no longer upset. He wasn't exactly sure what she'd like him to work on with her, but since he was sort of in the dog house he was pretty much at her mercy. Perhaps it might just be his ego, but John could swear that Celi was happy to have him to herself. Well, he could get behind that feeling one hundred percent. The thought of some schmuck trying to score with the lovely fashion designer in front of him was enough to make John's blood boil. With the attention she'd been giving to him though, he was sure no one would snatch her from him.

And he'd make sure of it.

Reaching forward to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear he held her gaze with his. "Well, you have my full attention now." John said, leaning in close and pressing a soft kiss to her lips, "So I'll take you home and you can work me as hard as you like."

Celi smiled as John pulled away from the chaste kiss, her eyes hooded and her cheeks flushed a light pink as she secretly savored the brief contact. She certainly hadn't been expecting that little number, but then again John always did have a way of surprising her, both in good and bad ways. This surprise most definitely fell into her good books, and all but guaranteed that her favorite Wilder deserved a special reward of his own for trying to makeup for his mishap.

"Oh don't you worry Rodeo, I'll make sure you're worked nice and hard by the time I'm through with you" She purred all too happily as she slipped her arm around his, not even bothering to hide the fact that she was cuddling his arm to her chest. The rosette didn't say a word about it though, she'd let his mind wander over just what it meant as she teasingly tugged on his arm towards the door. "Now let's get a move on shall we? I can't tire you out here after all"

John let Celi lead him out of the garage and back into the house, towards the front door. Elaine had already put the old picture albums away and had tossed a bunch of cookies into a large sandwich bag. "Hey Ma, I'm taking Celi home and working late. Don't wait up." John informed as she tossed him the bag. "All right honey. Don't get into too much trouble dear." She chuckled warmly and gave him a peck on the cheek, before turning to Celi with a wink, "You let me know if he gives you a hard time, hun. Mama will take care of that."

"Aww, Ma..." John said sheepishly, but kissed his mother's forehead and led Celi out before he could be embarrassed further. "All right. My ride or yours?"

"Don't worry Mrs. Wilder, I've well gotten used to John being a pain in the ass, I just make sure to get back at him later by taking him shopping with me" She teased, happily remembering the few times she managed to drag him with her to one store or the other, only for him to come out covered in shopping bags afterwards. "Thank you for having me though, I'll have to stop by again some time when I'm not on a such a murderous rampage for your son"

Sending the Wilder mother a fond wave 'goodbye', the rosette leaned towards John to whisper. "I'd say mine, that way I won't have to come back to get it later" Later of course, meaning sometime tomorrow if Celi had anything to say about it. She had already decided then and there that John was getting one hell of a treat, and what better time to start then as soon as they left?

Now that he and Celi were in the clear, he grinned at her and looped an arm around her waist, pulling her towards him. His tanned, muscular arm was powerful and felt almost as if she was being grasped by steel beams, but his hold was gentle enough not to hurt her. As he walked with her towards her vehicle, his powerfully built chest swayed slightly with each step. "Well now, do I detect a hint of desire in that lovely voice of yours?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows at her, "And you don't wanna come back later, huh? Does that mean we're gonna have a sleepover?" Before she could answer, he stepped to the driver side of her car and opened the door for her, gesturing for her to get in. "After you, sweetheart." His words were simple, but he watched her every move as if he were relishing them.

Celi practically melted into John's hold as they walked to her car, her own arm reaching behind his back and hooking her thumb into the waist of his jeans as she nearly mirrored his hold on her. There really was nothing better than the Wilder's strong arms around her; it was safe and comforting and warm, she was surrounded by his delicious scent, could hear the deep rumble of his voice against her ear, and most of all it never failed to show her his affection and possessiveness of her.

At his suggestive and playful inquiry, the designer looked up at him with her own coy smile playing on her lips. "Let's see...that would be a maybe to the first question, no to the second, and as for that last one..." She paused, running her hand along his backside as she removed herself from his side. "I'd say whether we have a 'sleepover' or not is more up to you, wouldn't you say?" She teased, enjoying herself as she enticed him with a bit more sway to her hips as she took his invitation into to her seat.

At her flirtatious suggestion, John lifted a brow. He loved it when she was being sassy, almost as much as he loved getting down and dirty with a certain fashionista. Without wasting any more time, he made his way around to the passenger side of her car and jumped in. The moment his tush hit the seat, he leaned in until his nose was only an inch from hers. "Up to me, huh?" He asked, liking the idea, "Well then, I say yes, honey."

Now if one were to ask around the island about John Wilder, they'd quickly find out that he was a rather confident sort. That was true, but it wasn't simply arrogance - he had the strength and skill to backup any claim he might make. But the only claim that he was thinking of making right now was a claim on Celi. "I'm ready whenever you are." He said with a wink.
