Ice Cream!!

The group of Wilders, plus one very adorable pink-haired girl, piled out of Terry's van and made their way not-so-calmly to the ice cream shop. The shop in question was connected to the side of the Wayward Convenience Store and served what was unquestionably the best commercially available homemade ice cream on the entire island. Joanna and Keith raced up to the open window while Fred walked with Mimi and Terry sauntered along behind them. When Joanna reached the window, she put her little hands on the ledge and stood on her tip toes as best as she could, trying to see the menu. She squealed in surprise as a pair of hands grabbed her and hoisted her into the air, but erupted in giggles when she realized it was just Keith.

"Has our little faerie princess decided on a flavor yet?" He asked the sprite-like girl with her hair done up in braids and curls, courtesy of their guest. She tapped her index finger on her chin, indicating that she was thinking and then announced that she wanted cotton candy flavored ice cream with bubblegum syrup. Keith looked a little ill at her choice, but put in her order. He ordered a vanilla cone for himself and turned back to the rest of their group, "The princess has ordered. What do you guys want?"

Fred lifted a single sleek brow at her in surprise. Could it be that this gorgeous girl had never had homemade ice cream before? Well, he'd have to remedy that. He slid up next to the pinkette slyly, watching her struggle with the decisions before her. He could hardly envy her position, but he could always help her out a little. "It's a pretty tough choice, I know." He said, empathetically, "This time, I'm going to get a raspberry cone with dark chocolate syrup."

With a smile, he added, "It's my favorite."

The employee at the window motioned at their different flavors, starting at the classics, moving towards soft-serve and sundaes, twists, combos, banana splits, Jim Dandies and more. And then there were the toppings. Everything from simple syrups, to crushed cookies, gummy candies, mochi, fruits and more cavity-inducing goodies than you could shake a stick at. Ironically, that was their tagline: "More goodies than you can shake a stick at!"

Fred cupped his chin as if he were thinking hard about something, then smiled like a cat who had just eaten an entire fish by himself. "You know... we can always bring you here again. You can even have a taste of mine if it helps."

The teenage boy in question looked as if Mimi had just offered to donate a kidney for him. "I can have some of yours too? I think I'm in Heaven! Cake batter swirl with graham crackers sounds amazing!" His grin was wide as she stayed attached to his side. This was far easier than he thought it was going to be, but he was never the kind of guy who wanted to work his fingers to the bone, so it was a win. Besides, having a girl like Mimi on his arm made him feel like the luckiest guy in the world.

Behind the two teens, Terry rolled his eyes and reached into his back pocket for his wallet. Obnoxious little shithead. He could tell Freddie liked this pretty little girl, but wasn't keen on his methods. Mimi clearly liked him as well, so there was no need to be slick about any of this. He should just be honest instead of covering all the 'angles'. Nevertheless, Mimi was adorable and loved Joanna, so he made a silent promise to himself to personally throttle his little brother should he break the girl's heart.

Without showing any change of expression, Terry strode to the counter and muttered "The usual."

Then he paid and let the employee fill their orders.
