"Well...I suppose that does sound like the most logical thing to do..." Celi trailed off as she quietly muttered back, trying to casually avert her eyes away from him and the charming smile on his face that was directed right at her.
He looked good like that, with a smile, she meant. He looked more relaxed and at ease than when they were out and around people, he always seemed so tense then.
John usually kept his features hard and unreadable, stony as some would call it, or a "forever present bitchface" as she'd heard Buster mention a time or three. Always on guard and watching for something or someone she couldn't discern, and his mood always seemed to sour at the most unexpected times.
But sometimes, usually when it was just them alone or in the private company of friends and family, she saw him relax those hardened features into one of silent content. His normally chilling icy blue eyes would soften into beautiful crystal blue gems, his brow easing and showing his true youth, his jaw would untense and be soothed with a small relaxed smile playing on his lips, and his presence would go from cold and guarded to warm and welcoming.
It was an unexpected change when she'd first witnessed it, but she couldn't very well say she disliked it.
Right now was certainly one of those times, and it was making her far more conscious of him than she normally would be given her more recent train of thoughts concerning him.
Admittedly, she blushed, the rosette supposed she wouldn't mind spending more time with John. She had to anyway after all, since they had a project to get done and the teachers had enlisted her specifically to help him get his grades up despite her small protests. Him giving her a ride everyday would just mean they could get started faster was all, and knowing him, her furniture would be put together sooner rather than later since he hated sitting still with a burning passion.
But Celi knew damn well that it'd probably be just them during these little afternoon get togethers, Mimi shot out of school like rocket once classes were done for the day to go hang out with her friends around town, and it wasn't until her stomach called her home in the evening that she finally reappeared.
Lu, and likewise Buster, probably wouldn't be joining them either. Both of them sporting part-time jobs that took up most of their afternoons, and even so, Lu had casually mentioned that she'd found a new playmate anyway and Celi certainly didn't want to get tangled in that.
So it'd just be her and John...alone...
But...with little she could think of to refuse him, and the small voice in her head tempting her so, Celi once again agreed with a small and hesitant nod, a blush dusting her cheeks as unwanted thoughts remained dancing in her head.
"I guess...I guess if it's not too much of a bother for you, we could do that for a while..."
