Well it was finally here, Mimi's 16th birthday, the famous celebrated birth date that marked a teens first step into adulthood. Though, knowing her little sister like she did, Celi figured that no matter how old she'd get, Mimi would always be the same cheerful goofball she's always been since day one.
The older Shiel sister honestly couldn't believe this day was already here though. It seemed like only yesterday that she was taking little Mimi to her first day of pre-school or teaching her how to make her first bracelet out of colorful thread. And now here she was, a beautiful and happy young woman who was celebrating her sweet 16. Before Celi knew it, Mimi would be going to college, finding a job, getting married! She only hoped that whoever her little sister ended up choosing was a good man who'd treat her right, because the older sibling knew she'd have no trouble at all beating the crud out of the man if he ever broke her younger siblings innocent heart.
Celi shook her head at her own thoughts. Really, Mimi wasn't even dating yet and here she was swearing to kick her husbands butt if he did her wrong. The magenta haired woman decided it'd be best to go back to what she was supposed to be doing, making sure everything was ready for the party. Mimi had said that she invited everyone in her class to come, but also mentioned that anyone who happened to stumble upon their festivities was more than welcome to join in, the more the merrier after all. So with that in mind, Celi was glad she had simply called a catering crew to handle the food, they had enough food and drinks to feed a small army if they had too. Or in this case, a group of hungry teenagers, which could be just a terrifying and a lot harder to handle depending on how things went.
The music was taken care of, courtesy of John Wilder actually. When she had mentioned one day, while he was over, that her sister's birthday was coming up and she would be busy planning it, he had suggested just letting him take care of the music. Celi had no trouble agreeing to the idea, the little bit of the work load taken off her shoulders would be much appreciated. And after all, the man did come from a family of musicians and he'd probably be able to put it together better then she could while trying to juggle everything else. So she left the music and who would be playing up to him, while she took care of other things.
Activities were also, thankfully, taken care of. Celi didn't really have one particular thing planned, and neither did Mimi other than having fun with her friends, so Celi just opted to rent out almost half of the Surf shop's goods. Overkill maybe, but at least no one would be bored. From beach balls and surf boards, to pails and snorkels, they even had jet skis and a boat they could use if they wanted to go out to sea.
With one last check of her to-do list, and final go around to make sure everything was set up, Celi thought it was safe to say that everything was as ready as it could be. The party was good to go, and ready to start!
