There's a simple explanation:
You're a toymaker's creation
Trapped inside a crystal ball
And whichever way he tilts it
Know that we must be resilient
We won't let them break our spirits
As we sing this silly song~
Onlookers, students, teachers, and passer byers alike, all stared on in bewilderment as they passed by the front gates to Martain Van Buren's hallowed halls. The simple little jingle catching their undivided attention was, it seemed, coming from above their heads and from the schools very own Michelle "Mimi" Shiel, who was perched atop the high brick wall, singing her own little melody without a care in the world as she waited for her new friend to arrive.
Although the sight of her up there itself wasn't what caught their attention, the bubbly blue eyed teen was rather well known around the school for her energetic and uh....eccentric(?) personality. And while the tune was catchy, and her innocent novice voice was pleasant to the ear, it was was hardly what piqued the curious ~eyebrow raising~ stares of the pinkette's unnoticed audience. No, what really got their attention was the lyrics.
~When I was a little fille, a galloping blaze overtook my city
So they shipped me off to the orphanage. Said, "ditch those roots if you wanna fit in"
So I dug one thousand holes and cut a rug in an orphan role
Now memories are blurred, and their faces are obscured, but I still, know the words to this song~
To put it bluntly, they were weird.
~When you've bungled all your bangles
And your loved ones have been mangled
Listen to the jingle jangle
Of my gypsy tambourine~
And maybe just a little bit creepy, which seemed uncharacteristically unusual for the always smiling, cheerful girl. But the cotton candy head paid no mind to the strange looks she was getting, in fact, she didn't even notice them at all! After all, she was having far too much fun singing on her wall top perch! She had just love, love, LOVED, the song Gala had showed her online the other day, and the catchy little jingle had been stuck in her head all day long. But there was no way Mimi could sing it in class ~she tried, but the teacher was none to happy with her~, so the pinkette had resigned herself to simply humming the tune until classes were over.
~Cause these chords are hypnotizing
And the whole world's harmonizing
So please children stop your crying
And just sing along with me~
With a bright smile, and a resounding final note, Mimi ended her strange tune with a happy wave and giggle as her "audience" left to go about the rest of their day. Normally by now, the young high schooler would also be skipping her way home ~and she means that quite literally!~. But today she had promised her good friend Fred that they would both head to her place together, so the pinkette had chosen to wait some place where she was sure he'd see her once he left the building. And what better place to wait than up on the gate wall! It certainly was very high and if he didn't see her, she definitely would see him!
