Mehi looked at keith trying to decide if he was teasing her, saying that the picture was pretty only because she was, herself...finally she came to the conclusion, that for some reason he really believed it. she watched him set his sketchbook carefully aside before turning back to her, and she blushed slightly at the feel of his hand pushing the hair out of her eyes. Why on earth was she always blushing? She mentally slapped herself, willing the redness to go away.


She watched him climb up on the bed and settle himself in front of her, blinking as she vaguely felt him take her hands in his, staring into his eyes, not even realizing when her bear rolled off her lap and off of the bed, landing in a heap on the floor. she was so involved in looking at him she almost didn't catch it when he spoke again, but...she did. her face got hot and she could feel her cheeks burn with embarrassment. she could imagine how she looked with bright red cheeks, her eyes wide and she couldn't say anything at all. She turned even redder as the meaning of what he'd said sunk in, not helped at all by the sudden appearance of his little brother. Damn but that kid had timing!

She now had an unwanted image burned into her imagination, at which she blushed even redder. She felt even shyer and more embarrassed now....she'd never even thought of something like that before...but he'd asked her that and she couldn't pull away from him. she felt like a startled deer, but she wasn't ready to move away from him yet. The words didn't sound anywhere near as innocent as the voice that had said them...and she wasn't entirely sure what to say in response to that question. It was true she liked him...and he HAD, after all, said when they got to know each other and were more comfortable.......she was most definitely startled to say the least, but she couldn't in all honesty say she couldn't even think about it...at the moment he was making her mind go crazy. Mehi was torn between running for the hills and leaving her bag there in the house, or staying put where she was. Both would be difficult, but she stayed where she was, not trusting her legs to hold her, and she smiled through her blush. Her teddy bear was forgotten on the floor. She hadn't even noticed he was gone yet, she was so shocked at the question.

Seeing how red she was, upset Keith a little. Why did Bobby have to have the worst possible timing in the history of mankind? Poor Mehi hadn't even been able to respond - and it was starting to look as if she wouldn't be able to, either. She was so delicate, like a beautiful flower and she deserved to be treated like one. "Please excuse my younger brother's manner of speaking. He lacks etiquette and is rough around the edges, but he's a nice boy when you get to know him. Honest." The soft-spoken boy apologized on behalf of his brother, "And please forgive me for asking you such a bold and forward question. I simply couldn't help myself. I want to do everything I can to make you happy."

Mehi could still feel her cheeks burning, and her hair was in her eyes again, as she fought for words. "I..It's..ok." she choked out.

Mehi really liked Keith and she wanted him to know that..but the question had shocked her so much that she wasn't sure what to say. Finally she realized her bear was missing and she started looking around for him. It was easier to answer Keith when her attention wasn't fixed on him. "I..I do like you...a..and I'm happy with you.." she said, blushing harder.She seriously didn't think she could say anything else, she was so flustered so she continued looking for Boo.

Keith smiled gently at her, taking her hand in his. At least he knew that the girl of his dreams was happy with him, but that still didn't quite entirely appease him. She had yet to answer him. So he scooted a little closer to her and stroked her hair softly. "You haven't answered me yet, Mehi." The boy reminded her, waiting for her answer.

Mehi was leaning down over the side of the bed with her butt in the air when she located her bear under it. Grabbing boo quickly she settled back on the bed, clutching him closely to her. Her cheeks burned hotter when Keith took the hand that did not have a death grip on the poor teddy bear.

She buried her face in the bear's soft head, her long hair falling over her face, braids falling over the front of her shoulders on either side of the bear. Mehi was extremely conscious of his hand on her hair, and she could feel the heat from her face when he insisted on an answer from her. How was she going to be able to answer that? Could she even open her mouth? Closing her eyes tightly she had to force herself to say something...but she was so self conscious and embarrassed....so she did the only thing she could do-let out a very small, squeak-"yes."

her face burned even hotter at that one little word, and she kept her face buried in the back of Boo's head. She didn't think she could look at him, she was so embarrassed. The only thing that was helping was the fact that the long hair that had pulled free from her loose braids was effectively covering her burning cheeks and hiding him from her view. The bear, snuggles in her arms, had the slightly squished look of a toad, she was holding it so tightly. She hoped, through her embarrassment, that he wouldn't take her red face the wrong way.

Finally heaving a sigh of relief, Keith hugged Mehitahelle and relaxed back against his pillow. Laying down on his old, yet comfortable bed, he rested one hand on his stomach, while the other made itself comfortable on her lap. "Thanks. I thought you might be too shy to ever do it with me, but this puts my mind at ease." The boy said with a peaceful smile of contentment on his face, "Of course, we still have plenty of time before we have to worry about that. You know, we are too young for that sort of thing right now. I was just wondering."

But now he had something to dream about! How romantic everything was going to be for them. This was most definitely true love at it's purest. To think that two innocent kids would happen to meet when they were only in middle school, fall in love and plan on spending their lives together. It was like a fairy tail. They would be each others' first and only love, they would give their innocence to each other. It would be so perfect.

Mehi snuggled into keith's arms, still clutching her teddy bear in a death grip, burying her face against his shoulder, her hair still covering her cheeks. As he pulled away, she watched him settle back on his bed, tipping her head slightly, a shy look on her face.

Mehi looked down and saw he had dropped his hand in her lap, and so tucking boo next to her, she summoned enough bravery to gently put her hands, on each side of his hand and hold it, not moving it at all, a blush still covering her face. She wouldn't in any circumstance be able to take the initiative for any more. Did he want an answer to his thank you? Soft and unsure she said "you're welcome?"

Mehi stretched her legs out on the bed and risked taking a glance up at keith's face, before looking down again. She was glad he agreed that they were too young for that....but she knew eventually her shyness would be a thing of the past. She hoped it would lift soon as she knew she was only this shy because she was in a new place with new people. She managed a shaky smile at her hands and his, before looking up at him, her smile still in place, no longer a shaky ghost of a smile, but the real thing.

Her soft brown eyes didn't flicker away from his, like they would have normally. Unconsciously she readjusted herself and scooted closer to him, as she moved one hand off his to lightly brush the stray hair back from her eyes.

Keith could hardly believe his eyes! Mehitahelle, such a shy little angel, was actually snuggling up to him! A great big smile creased his face as she unconsciously moved closer to him. Oh what a truly marvelous and unexpected wonder it is to have my sweetheart lay here beside me. To cuddle with me, so that we may share this space and let our love warm us. And also our body heat. The young artist thought to himself, enjoying this moment with Mehi as much as humanly possible, perhaps more.

Content with the way things were going, Keith wrapped his arms around Mehitahelle and happily snuggled close to her as well. She was so soft, warm and cuddly and he liked to simply hold her in his arms. So, with the girl of his dreams in his arms, he peacefully relaxed on his bed and drifted off to sleep.

Mehi snuggled deeper into keith's arms, closing her eyes as she felt him wrap his arms around her, as her breathing relaxed, as she snuggled her bear in her arms, on the bed in front of her.
Mehi's long brown hair fell in her eyes, but she hardly noticed as she felt the gentle pull of sleep drawing her into it's grasp, and the happenings of the day replaying themselves in her mind in the form of the best dreams she had ever had, as she fell asleep...with a smile on her face.
