Kae sighed as he watched several of his fellow teens get drenched from head to toe, laughing and taking off after each other in a game of tag with water guns in hand. They certainly seemed to be having fun, and while he wasn't a stick in the mud per se, this really wasn't his kind of thing. So how did he even get dragged into this anyway? He had woken up this morning just like normal, had had a nice breakfast with his mother just like normal, had gone off to work at his part-time job just like normal, everything he'd done had been as normal as it ever was.
Until he had gotten to work.
His boss was a good man, a kind man in fact, if not blunt to a fault in some cases. One of those being Kae himself. Kae was one of the younger employees over at the diner he worked at, and considering he was also a still a student as well meant he couldn't work as much as the other, older, employees. So instead he worked harder, he helped out whenever and wherever he could, covered shifts whenever he was able, and still made it home before midnight to get in some studying!
But of course, while that workaholic nature of his was exactly what his boss was worried about, Kae could understand that, he had those same worries about his mother after all. Did that mean he enjoyed getting kicked out of the diner to "take a day off, so you don't go burning yourself out before ya can even get lit!"? Nope, not at all. He also certainly didn't enjoy it when his boss went so far as to drag him to the nearby park ~so he wouldn't just go to the library and study instead~ striked up a conversation with some of his fellow schoolmates, and promptly tossed him into their park-wide water fight with little to no say from him except a mumbled mess of confusion.
Thank god he'd at least been wearing his pre-work clothes, a tshirt and some cargo shorts, otherwise his good clothes would have been ruined within second of being thrown into the fray. As it was though, he'd been soaked within seconds of his boss leaving, and then a few minutes after that trying to find a hiding spot, and then another few minutes after that because several people had found his hiding spot.
Needless to say, Kae was not in his element at all, and hoped his new hiding spot kept him safe until the game ended...whenever that was. But at least until then he was hidden ~hopefully~, protected ~by one not very large water gun~, and drying ~still soaked~.
