Water Wars

Surprised that the poor teen was nearly knocked over, he quickly snapped his hand back so as not to scare him. "Whoa, sorry 'bout that pal. I don't know my own strength sometimes." He said apologetically and rearranged himself into a crouching position. Compared to the rail-thin guy next to him, Chuck felt like he just walked off the set of Rambo. With his tanned, tattooed, muscular frame glistening with a mixture of mud, sweat and water, and his wild hair being kept at bay with a tightly tied bandanna, he sure looked the part.

Granted, compared to most of his peers he was definitely an anomaly - hey, Emma would be proud of him for remembering that term! - but to him it was normal. Especially considering he was one of the poor kids on the island. But today, that didn't matter. Today he could just be another teenager having fun in the park and waiting on his favorite bookworm to show up.

Speaking of which, he spotted the object of his affection with her best friend. They'd just arrived at the park and were armed with water guns of their own. Lena was easy to spot with her curly red hair, but he only had eyes for Emma. She wasn't wearing a swimsuit, which was a bit odd, but the pale pink top and jeans shorts she was rocking were enough to make his jaw drop. And she had decided to put in her contacts today too, so she could go all out. His pulse quickened as he stared at her.

Hot damn was she beautiful!

All thought of everything else emptied from his mind and filled him with the desire to rush over there and scoop her right up into his arms. Of course, if he did that she'd get all dirty...

Okay. Now he really wanted to do it.

The teenager's awkward attempt at conversation snapped Chuck back to reality and the Wilder belatedly realized he'd forgotten the kid had existed. He turned to look at the kid he was currently sharing a shrub with. Right. There was a water war going on. Now was not the time to fantasize about leaving muddy hand prints on his girlfriend's posterior... although he'd probably do that anyway the moment he got the chance. "Huh? Um, yeah I guess?" He'd completely forgotten what the question was, so he gave an answer that he thought might sound correct.

Glancing back to where Emma and Lena had been standing, he was disappointed with the now vacated space. Turning back to the teenager, the Wilder offered a hand. "Name's Chuck, but you probably already know that. I don't think I've had any classes with you before, pal. What's your name?"

It was the perfect day to kick back, relax, and have other people take care of your menial tasks for you, in Fred's opinion. Hard work and struggling to get by were all well and good for people who liked that crap, but it just wasn't his thing. Maybe he'd get a nice office job when he finished high school and graduated college. He was a pretty intelligent and charismatic guy after all, and working himself to the bone wasn't exactly his idea of a good time. He was friendly and charming, popular enough that he had a fairly large group of admirers in school. So why not take advantage of that?

Maybe he could even go into politics. That would send the old farts of Rai Island into a tizzy.

But thoughts of the future could wait, because today there was an epic water battle going on in the park and he armed and ready to drench some people! Earlier he had tried - and failed - to get his oldest brother Terry involved in the fun, but aside from the fact that the twenty year old would probably send everyone fleeing in terror... he also had to go to work. Fred had also attempted to recruit John, but that was also a bust. Apparently, John was going to do some modeling thing for his girlfriend Celi.

Heh, sure he was.

No matter, there were plenty of other people in on this liquid chaos and he knew that most of his other brothers were somewhere in the greenery. Fred also knew that somewhere in the nearby area was a cute, pink-haired girl in a swimsuit that was ready to pelt people with water balloons. Maybe they could team up and take down their competition...

It was warm, sure. Warm, sunny and the perfect weather...

For him to lock himself in his room.

Or to take the Cessna out for a flight, but there were no customers today, so that was right out the window. Normally, the soft spoken lad from the emerald land of faeries and folklore spent his time away from the general public, dabbling in the occult or whatever suited his fancy that day. But not today, oh no. No, today his darlin' little sprite of a sister got it in her head that he needed a bit of the craic and so she stole nearly all of his clothing while he was in the shower and hid it on him, the little shitehawk.

The only clothing the poxy brat had left him was a dark blue tank top and a pair of black cargo shorts - two articles of clothing that he sure as hell didn't buy. Since she left him with nothin' else (not even a pair of knickers!), he was forced to put them on and search their home for anything else he could cover himself with. After an unsuccessful hour of tearing their house apart, Kieran came up with nothing... except an old cape he used to zoom 'round in when he was a lad. Fionna probably left it, thinking he wasn't lame enough to don it in public.

So now he was in the park in the clothes he'd gathered, cape and all to protect him from the harsh sunlight threatening to roast him red. Her note mentioned some 'bloody deadly' thing at the park, so if he was going to get his shite back, he'd find her here. And embarrass her by giving her a hug while in this ridiculous getup. See if she'd pull this type of bollocks again.

He pulled the cape closer to his body, trying to cover his alabaster skin. He'd slathered on as much sunscreen as he could, but his skin was so white that it practically reflected the sun. A little cover was in order. Unfortunately for him, upon arriving in the park he was greeted by the sight of a full-blown water fight. His golden eyes widened as he watched all those feckers runnin' round, hosing each other. A cold finger of fear wrapped 'round his spine. He was alone, unarmed and surrounded by a group that was giving it socks when it came to the water tossing.

Glancing around quickly, Kieran spotted some water pistols and quickly snatched up a couple. At least if he was going to get a face full of fluid, so would everyone else.

The last thing the poor lad expecting was to hear the voice of the very lovely cheerleader in his ear, so close that her breath on his ear sent an involuntary shiver up his spine. Heat rushed to his face so quickly that his cheeks and the tips of his ears reddened in response. "C-Camille?" Kieran stammered, completely unprepared for such close proximity with his current state of dress.

Speaking on which...

She'd asked about the ridiculous cape he was wearing and, considering his usually conservative way of dressing, he felt scarlet for himself. Embarrassing was the mildest possible term he could think of. He turned toward her and unconsciously tugged the fabric closer to himself, although whether it was to shield himself from prying eyes or shield her eyes from his blindingly white skin, he couldn't say.

"Sorry, I'm a bit all over the shop. Bleedin' sister pinched m' cacks and bolted. She left me in a bleedin' state. I'd toss the cape, but me skin'll glow so bright you'll go blind."

"Sh*t, I'm late! I'm not missing this for anything." Becky Clemens sped to the park on her trusty old bike, dressed in a black racerback tank top and forest camo cargo shorts, with a fully-stocked mini duffel bag hung across her body. Her munitions bag was loaded with two full Super Soakers, an extra smaller version, and a repurposed plastic box which encased five colorful water balloons, grenades to use sparingly, tactically. She had her hair tied up in her usual messy ponytail and was ready for action.

After finding a place to lock her bike up near the parking lot, Becky shot her friends a rushed, un-spellchecked text and pulled out her first loaded weapon. "Yuo guys at the fight? Just gothere. Srry I'm latg"

Now she was off to find a worthy, or more importantly, exciting opponent.

The lithe teenager made his way quickly and quietly, watching his surroundings as he moved, keeping his mouth closed firmly so that any sound to escape was muffled. His water weapon at the ready, he stealthily sauntered through the park.

A quick bit of noise passed him by as someone blew past him without even noticing, but Fred kept quiet and let them pass, continuing on his way as he kept a sharp eye out for the familiar. After a few minutes of travel, he spotted something familiar tangled up in some nearby foliage. Something pink and cute.

Mimi.

"Need a hand, Mimi?" He asked quietly as he came up to disentangle the girl.

While Fred was busy disentangling Mimi from the foliage and Chuck was considering teaming up with Kae, two teenage troublemakers were lying in wait to ambush unsuspecting victims. Normally the Wilder twins would be causing all sorts of mayhem, but this time was different.

This time they had raided the family's stockpile of old water guns.

Ironically still as statues, the normally energetic boys kept absolutely quiet as they waited for victims to come by. And, if the noise closing in on their positions was any indication, they'd get their chance all too soon...
