He dumped her on the floor.
It was sudden and unexpected, the act having left her rather bewildered by the abruptness of it all. One moment she was trying to strangle that annoying dumbass from over his own shoulder after he'd playfully tossed her up into the air, somehow giving her ass an obnoxious slap while he was at it, and the next he was still as a board, his attention elsewhere as something caught his eye.
She should have been happy about that, thank god something else could entertain this idiot aside from her! But the next thing she knew he was gently placing her on her butt on the light wooden floors like he would a toddler in a playpen, even giving her a cheeky little pat to her ruffled magenta head before turning to his brother and cousin with all the seriousness of a gunslinger's showdown.
But she didn't give a damn about that.
He'd dumped her on her ASS on the damn floor like a fucking CHILD!
The fuck?! The nerve of him! Treating her like a plaything and child when she was certainly neither! And then he had the gall to think he could just brush it off like it was nothing now that he'd found something else to entertain himself with!?
Who did he think he was?!
But before the rosette could even begin to complain to "obnoxious is his name John 'Fucking Dumbass' Wilder" about his unwarranted and especially unwanted manhandling of her persons, Celi felt herself being pulled with great haste out of the walkway she'd just angrily stomped her way over to to give him a piece of her mind. The rosette having just barely missed being barreled over by the clabbering mess of boys as they made a beeline outside for the moving truck, stampeding their way around and even over each other to get out the door first while shouting like the crew of loud and rambunctious little boys they certainly were at the moment.
She'd stumbled a bit in her heels from the pull, Patty releasing her arm and helping to right herself so she wouldn't land on her ass, but even with the mumbled "thanks" to the older girl, the rosette's attention was solely on the annoying dumbass out the window who was trying to boot his cousin out of the moving truck with little success.
"Why that no good..." Celi angrily grumbled to herself, her temper flaring all the more since her target of righteous fury and retribution had literally just run out the door.
With every intention to go out there and give him a piece of her mind, whether he fucking wanted it or not! And she would make him listen this time dammit! Celi squared her shoulders, about to make the angry march outside, but the firm hand holding onto the back of her cropped jacket stopped her in her tracks.
With an annoyed pout, the young model looked over at Patty who had her jacket firmly in hand with determined but pleading eyes to the older girl to "please let her go". Surely, she must understand, Patty had dealt with them longer than she had so certainly she'd get it! But the older girl simply gave her a sad sympathetic look with a shake of her luscious black locks, and the rosette's shoulders slumped a little, she fucking knew that look. The older girl absolutely understood where the rosette was coming from, how her anger was justified, but Patty's experience from many years of dealing with these idiots told her that this was one of those times where the battle of wills and wits could simply not be won.
Nothing could stop those boys once they got a dumb idea stuck in their heads, especially if it involved a competition.
"Well that's just fucking peachy", Celi thought, glaring once more out the window as the boys wrestled over who would bring in a particularly large box that just so happened to be her bed.
It wasn't until she heard the familiar snickering of her dear old friend that Celi pulled her gaze away from the window, her violet eyes now glaring at Lu as the surfer lounged lazily on the floor with an open box in front of her, intent on organizing the contents so they could get this place in tip top order.
"Something you find funny Lu?" The rosette asked with a bit of bite to her tone. She was still fuming, and Lu of all people should know not to test her nerves until she'd calmed down, but heaven forbid that ever stop the surfer for getting her laughs in at her expense!
"Oh nothing~" Lu sang innocently, her teal eyes bright and dancing with mirth as she casually pulled out a stack of books to put in the built in shelf one by one, her obvious intent to string along the angry little rosette only making the girl seethe all the more and of course they both knew it. The surfer also knew all to well that she was messing with a bomb that was ready to blow, but she could only giggle as she watched Celi's eyes go from her to the window as she tapped her dainty foot impatiently, waiting for whatever it was that she had to say.
"Just wondering why, if John annoys you so much, don't you just ignore him like you have all those other guys you've had to deal with? It's not like you haven't had to deal with a pest as irritating as him before, so it shouldn't be too hard to ignore him if you really tried...unless...you don't want to ignore him that is?" Lu questioned with a chuckle, her eyebrow raising as she saw Celi's face turn a lovely shade of red.
"What?! No! Of course not!" Celi sputtered, her eyes darting to the boys who were already racing back with their first load in hand, to Lu and Patty who were grinning at her cheekily. "No! I mean, I'd love to ignore him, truly! But he's just so-! He just gets-! UGH! WHAT. I. MEAN. IS. I can't very well ignore him while he's helping us move so I don't have much of a choice now do I?! Once we're all done, I will happily and easily ignore that oaf" She said firmly, her shoulders squared and arms crossed, her decision absolutely and completely final on the matter.
Unfortunately, neither of the other girls looked too damn convinced.
Lu, of course, looked amused and more than willing to take that bet against her from the looks of it. She'd done so numerous times in the past to the rosette's exasperation, and she refused to admit how many of those bets had been in her favor in the end.
But Patty was downright laughing at her! Shaking her head with a light and airy chuckle like she'd just heard the best joke in the world.
Did these two seriously think she couldn't do it?!
Rude!
But as the boy's clamored through the door, or at least tried to as they pushed and shoved at each other with their boxes in hand, Celi huffed as she reluctantly surrendered and let the subject drop like a hot rock. Absolutely unwilling to speak on the matter when the matter himself was trying to shove his brother's elbow into their cousin's hip instead of his face.
Thankfully the other girls were willing to play along, the topic unanimously and silently coming to a close as they all settled into unpacking and the subject at hand soon fell to lighter things. Patty, being the island born and raised resident that she was, helpfully filled them in on all of the things there were to do around the island once they were settled in. The best places to eat, the best shops to browse through, fun places to explore, she seemed to have a never ending list for them and the gossip she had on hand about nearly every single resident and returning tourist was a gold mine to say the least.
But as the conversation went on, shifting slightly to topics she'd rather avoid, Celi couldn't help but start to feel uneasy.
It started out easily enough, Patty had casually brought up the residential areas of the island and what there was to each of them.
Vepigo for instance, where they were now, was widely known as the safest area where most of the middle to upper class families tended to live. But the farther into the Westside community you got, the snootier the residents tended to be and the nastier their personalities got.
The Uran district was mostly small quaint suburbs, with lower middle to lower class families living there modestly. Most of the residents there worked at the bath houses, the mall, or the nearby library due to the proximity and so the residents were all fairly close because of it, but it was a rather quiet community that didn't like stirring up trouble compared to the others.
Lastly was the Samo district, which was by far the poorest and roughest out of all of the districts. And while not crime ridden and lawless as rumors had many believe, Patty did mention it could be dangerous for any outsiders who recklessly ventured in. But out of all the districts, none were closer to each other than those who hailed from Samo, the residents being a very tight knit bunch who always looked out for their own and those close to them, so so long as you had an "in" you were good.
This of course, brought up the Wilders, the infamous crew of troublemakers that lived in Samo and who Terry, John, and Buster all happily called their family.
And the boys, who'd now joined them in the living room and switched from bringing things in to building, all jumped at the chance to share their own stories now that their kin were being brought up. The conversation rolling happily and naturally, even despite Celi's weak attempts at steering it towards something else instead as the boy's all shared some of the funnier and more outrageous shenanigan's they'd gotten into.
Patty even threw in a few tidbits of her own, adding to some of the boys stories, mostly as an onlooker, as well as throwing in some tamer hijinks that happened with her and her parents in her home on the outskirts of Vepigo. Lu had also piped in a little about her own father who was still abroad, mentioning what he was up to now that they were moving to the island from France and how we was so giddy to go house shopping with her once he took care of business.
It only Celi and Mimi who had yet to say a word, the older sister was far too focused on cleaning and organizing her belongings to dare speak up and join the conversation in what was uneasy territory for he, while the younger was far too busy climbing on top of Terry to notice her building tension.
Somehow, the girls had managed to avoid saying anything about their situation so far, the precedence of getting them here and moved in more important than anything and thankfully no one had brought it up. But with the work underway, and everyone cheerfully sharing stories about their families and their home lives, it was getting harder and harder for the older rosette to ignore Patty's inquisitive gaze the longer she stayed silent.
The older girl was smart, and no doubt she had deduced for herself that something wasn't quite right by now given how observant she tended to be, and it seemed like she was waiting for the right time to broach the subject given how she'd yet to ask the obvious.
But Celi wasn't sure what to say.
Sure, she was fairly certain that none of them would think less of her or Mimi for their family situation if, or rather when, they found out. But that didn't make the conversation any less awkward to have, or dampen the rosette's unease concerning it at all.
If anything, she'd just rather ignore it, and let it disappear in the wind.
