PE Class, Miss Goshe

19 year old Brandone was helping the other boy dig up the large patch of ground, using a sharp knife to cut through the grass, turning it into long strips which he then pulled up, forcing his muscles to work. Sweat ran down his back and face, soaking his very loose red tank top shirt. Brandone loved working outside in the dirt and he was glad he had been asked to help do this.

Keylee was excited when she heard they were going to do dodgeball. She LOVED that game and she had always been good at it. She grinned at the thought of the game and looked around the at her classmates. She happened to see a very familiar looking boy at one edge of the group of students. She'd been about to go over to talk to him, but she noticed just in time that he was with a really pretty red haired girl, so she stayed put. There would be time to talk to them later, and maybe she'd get to meet that girl. Her friend looked like there was something going on with him and the girl. How well did they know each other? She really did wonder.

Mina hadn't noticed Chepe yet. She was too crabby about having to do dodgeball...and then having to dig in the dirt. She shook her head angrily at the thought. She thought about the gift she'd left in the girl's locker room. She'd just have to give it to Chepe if she saw him at lunch. If she survived having to participate in this stupid class.

Gadiel smiled a little at the teacher's plan. Hearing she planned dodgeball made him very glad Yui was not in the class. He remembered all too painfully the other day when he had inadvertently hurt her with the beach ball. Who the hell gets hurt by a BEACH BALL? He wondered. He had a sneaky suspicion that she would have been hurt if she'd been in the class.

Ah-Gyul most often exercised in his room on his own, but he did basic stretches here and warm-up exercises before he spotted a familiar face. He crossed over the grass confidently to the strawberry blonde, deciding to withhold reminders of their bet before.
"Hello," he greeted her. Ah-Gyul might have tried to meet people, except none sparked his interest at introduction, so he stuck to what he knew. Not to mention, what he knew was an interesting, challenging girl--good enough for the moment. "You good at dodgeball?" He wasn't sure what the term meant, but he was sure he played it before. He'd know it when he saw the set up, probably.

The bright side of being late to gym class was that the locker rooms were already cleared out of most students, a few still lingering behind to put the finishing touches on their outfits. Why was it that some girl’s, these flashy self-proclaimed fashionista’s , found the need to dress up for a class that’s main purpose always seemed to be – pushing you until you were leaving out of breath and covered in sweat.

Sitting on the metal bench between the two rows of freshly painted lockers, Emma double knotted the ties to her running shoes. She didn’t want them to come loose in the middle of class. Her gym outfit consisted of a loose fitting grey t-shirt, and matching gym shorts that hung right above her knees. Removing her glasses Emma carefully put in her contacts. She had begun wearing contacts in gym class ever since her mishap freshman year, which resulted in the destruction of her glasses. It had taken her and Kyren a month of doing odd jobs around the neighborhood to afford another pair. Closing her locker she headed out to where the class was meeting out in the grass.

Looking curiously over the freshly turned patch of dirt Emma wondered what her teacher had planned for them. This didn’t seem like your everyday PE class. Catching a glimpse of the two older boys who were diligently working at getting the patch prepared, Emma quickly averted her shy gaze back to the group of students already warming up. Settling into a spot in the back of the group she began her stretches, constantly checking those around her to make sure she was doing them correctly.

What the hell. I can't believe I forgot to set my alarm clock last night. Now I'm late for PE. Chuck thought as he raced through the courtyard on the way to the locker rooms. He climbed the stairs two at a time, ignoring the hall monitor's call to use caution and not run. Physical education was definitely a favorite of his, as he kept his body in peak condition on a regular basis. It was already a few minutes into class, so there was no doubt that he'd missed the opportunity to change his clothes in the locker room. No matter...

Grabbing the bottom of his gray t-shirt, he quickly yanked it up over his head and pulled it off, stuffing it into his bag and grabbing the black tank. He pulled that on quickly, then unbuckled his belt and jeans as he ran. Surprisingly, he was able to get those off and pull some blue shorts on without so much as slowing down, as if he had done this many times before. Thankfully, there were only a few people in the hallway now to have seen him change his clothes -left wide-eyed in the Wilder's wake. He darted through the boy's locker room, throwing his bag with his clothes inside into a corner and raced out to where the class was currently gathered. Not exactly the best start to the morning, but he only missed the stretching it seemed.

His blue eyes did a quick scan of the students, catching a few new faces. There was a couple college boys digging in the dirt, a few new girls -one in a very... colorful outfit, and there was the teacher. She didn't LOOK like a PE teacher, but it didn't matter to him. He just enjoyed physical activity. Chepe was there with Lena looking particularly satisfied, there were other students from science class like that girl who was taken to the nurse and the Korean guy. His gaze fell on Emma, shyly stretching towards the back of the group. He was over next to her without even thinking about it.

His first (and very powerful) instinct was to sneak up behind her and goose her, but common sense took over when he realized she might yelp in surprise. "Damn, you're gorgeous, Emma." Chuck murmured bluntly in greeting, voice as nonchalant as he could manage with his heart beating louder than a bass drum. Then he realized what he'd said and smacked his palm into his forehead in embarrassment. "I mean, good morning." He amended.

Sitting in the lush –well tended- grass Olivia was in the middle of a stretch, her head down reaching for her foot when a familiar voice pulled her out of it. Lifting her head she smiled greeting her Korean classmate. “G’day!” The last time she saw him he was rushing out of their science class. Out of sight before she could even tempt him to join her to explore the rest of the island. Luckily he hadn’t come...taking the wave she way she had was embarrassing enough, having someone witness it would have been much worse.

Leaning back on onto the palm of her hands, Olivia smirked responding to his question. “Good? I couldn’t say...I’ve only played dodge ball a few times, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.” Swiftly getting to her feet, Olivia brushed the loose grass from her shorts. “Let’s not wager anything on this one though…you already owe me.” She reminded him a small chuckle escaping her lips as going into the next stretch.

Still somewhat sluggish as he changed in the boy's locker room, Kyren was pretty much the last one out. He had chosen a dark blue shirt and one of his favorite pairs of black sweatpants, which may or may not prove beneficial if the game being played was dodgeball, but would not work well with the steady beat of the sun. Kyren had never been too fond of playing dodgeball, but with that mangy wolf in the class, he may have to put more effort into today's 'lesson'. Speak of the devil, Kyren spotted said wolf, once more drooling over Emma like an untrained pet. A sneer rose unbidden on his face as he stalked to the other side of the class, as far away from the sight as he could get without attracting attention to himself, and waited impatiently for the teacher to get them started.

Xavier woke up and realized he was late for class. He jumped out of bed and quickly grabbed a pair black pair of sweats, a t-shirt, and his black sneakers. Hurriedly getting dressed, he bounded down the stairs. He ran at full speed and gets to the class outside, panting. Looking around, he noticed a beautiful girl in bright clothing and pigtails among the other students. Xavier saw her stretching, and thought, "Wow, she is pretty flexible. She looks like a really fun to know girl, like the kind of girl I would like to know." smiling to himself.

Lena claimed a spot in the grass beside Chepe stretching her legs out. She liked when he had his hair pulled back, although his bangs still managed to hang into his eyes his face wasn’t completely hidden behind his black locks. “I can’t say I’ve had a teacher let us decide what to do before either. “ Lena said mid-stretch, her gaze traveling from Chepe to the patch of dirt being turned over by the two older boys. “Then again I’ve never had them allow us to play in dirt before. Must be a Valevay thing…” Lena has spent her first 3 years of high school at Martin Van Buren. The teachers here weren’t exactly what she had expected…then again it was only the first week of school. Finishing her stretches, keeping conversation with Chepe, Lena wondered whose team she’d end up on for dodge ball.

Gadiel was stretching when he saw the short boy come flying up on them at a dead run. He chuckled to himself. There were a few students who had been late and he didn't think he had ever seen so many late students before. He wondered what had caused them to arrive late, but at least they hadn't missed out on class.

Chepe smiled. "I know...In California, my teacher was a real stickler. He always made sure every second was going to be scheduled." He laughed as he finished up with his stretches. Turning to face Lena, his legs stretched out on the grass, he said, "yeah, Miss Goshe is going to have us dig for bugs over there in the dirt....That's something I've NEVER had a teacher do." He laughed. "I wonder whose team we'll be on. Miss Goshe and Noah," Chepe pointed out the boy to her, "will be team captains."

Miss Goshe looked around the class. It looked like everyone was there so she began the class. "Okay everyone, Noah and I will now choose our Teams." She grinned. "Please stay in your places until both teams are chosen." She smiled at the late students. "If you were late to class, I am going to have you do something over in the dirt directly following our dirt activity." She smiled. "Noah will choose first for his team."

Noah looked around at the students. "Hmm..." he said. "Chuck Wilder." he said and waited for Miss Goshe to make her choice.

When she chose, then he chose again. they kept going that way until Noah's team consisted of Chuck,Kyren, Xavier, Lissa, Mina, Olivia, Lorilynn, and Emma.



Miss Goshe's team now consisted of Chepe, Aaron, Gadiel, Ah-Gyul, Lilly, Lizzie, Kaylee, Lena and Rebecca.

Noah waited for Miss Goshe's next direction as the students separated into their teams.

Chepe smiled warmly, as he got to his feet. He held his hand out for Lena to take, offering to help her up from the grass. "Looks like we're on the same team." he said as they headed over to the teacher's side of the school yard.the wind blew Chepe's black bangs out of his eyes. He was thinking how much he liked the fact that they were on the same team.

Lizzie was excited she and her sister were on the same team. She stood up and dragged Lilly over to where Miss Goshe stood, waiting for them, as the brunette girl Kaylee followed close behind them. "This is going to be so much fun" Lizzie said to her sister, as they reached the teacher and took their places beside her. Lizzie reached up and tugged on one of her pigtails as she watched the other students on her team coming over.

Mina watched Chepe and the Redheaded girl...she did not intend to ever use her name...as she walked over to her team captain, who was the older boy. She had hoped she would be on Chepe's team even though she hated PE. She stood near Noah as the other students came over.

Walking over to her team captain, a feeling of excitement went through Lorilynn's body. She's always wanted to play dodge ball, and now this was her chance! It looked fun on television, so it must've been ten times more fun in real life. She looked at the opposing team. She did wish Becky was on her team, but it was going to be a challenge playing against her. Lorilynn didn't mind though, she liked challenges. She did do a double take on her team, though. A couple of them didn't really seem happy about this, but she shook it off. Their negativity certainly wouldn't rain on her parade.

Emma had been wondering when a certain Wilder would be strolling into class. At least this time he wouldn’t have to hold his pants up due to a mysteriously missing belt. The thought bringing Emma back to the day before, when he had her trapped between the stairwells…kissing her senseless. The memory coloring her cheeks a soft pink hue, before the familiar voice snuck up behind her.

Emma straightened up from trying to reach her toes, copying the stretch of the person a few feet in front of her. Chuck’s charming greeting bringing a smile to her face. “Good morning,” She softly replied while fiddling with one of her pigtails -- a shy habit she could never seem to control. Taking in Chuck’s appearance Emma tried not to giggle. It looked as though he might have just rolled out of bed. Without thinking about it she reached up to fix his messy curls that had been tempting her to touch them since his arrival. Realizing (a little late) what she had been doing she dropped her hand from his hair her blush deepening. “Um, someone sleep in?” She asked omitting the fact that she too had arrived late to class just a few moments before had. Hopefully they weren’t going to make a habit of this seeing as she had cut it close the previous day as well.

There was a sinking feeling in Emma’s gut upon hearing that Miss Goshe had something in store for all of those who were late to class. Of course lateness should never have to be tolerated, but there had been a glimmer of hope that she had slipped in unnoticed. Doubtful as it was. Honestly it hadn’t surprised Emma that she had been chosen last for Noah’s team. She was a far cry from the athletic type, and was honestly a little worried about getting pelted with a dodge ball. However ending up on not only her brother’s team but Chuck’s as well made Emma unusually excited for the game. There had even been a small unnoticeable bounce to her step as she headed over to her group.

Gladly taking Chepe’s outstretched hand Lena got to her feet brushing herself off. “Looks like you got lucky. Had we been on separate teams, I wouldn’t have gone easy on you!” Lena joked accompanying him towards their team. Thankfully Miss Goshe’s team comprised of a rather athletic group of student’s, and luckily they had a vibrantly dressed target within their ranks. Which would hopefully distract the other team. Glancing towards Noah, Lena’s eyes scanned his group- Lorilynn, Wilder, the Australian girl, a rather moody looking Kyren, MIA her herself, and an unwelcomed sight of blonde. Well no matter, Lena had a ball with her name on it!

Ah-Gyul had only curled his mouth into a silent smile for a while, considering her near-challenge. He was smart enough not to bet someone on a sport he was unfamiliar with, especially when that someone already remembered a loss and a debt he owed her without reminding on his part. Of course, it was rather unlikely Olivia would not have remembered their bet, but he'd done what he could. "Of course not," he told her, before they separated into teams, on which they were opposing once again.

He scanned over the competition, Picking out a few in his mind to watch out for, and others to target--like Olivia. He grinned mischievously at the Australian across the way. Though he did that, he still wasn't sure of the set-up or rules of the game...

The nearest teammate to him was a boy with long black hair. Ah-Gyul pulled him over only remembering his name by the calling off of the team, Chipay, to ask him what it was about. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing except him, so the Korean doubted the rules would be fully explained. "So how does dodgeball go?" he asked Chipay In a low voice. He noticed the redhead next to the boy, also on their team, Kolena, and recognized her as the girl who'd shared her textbook with him before. Ah-Gyul nodded to her in acknowledgement and thanks before turning back to Chipay.

Chepe grinned. "I wouldn't have gone easy on you either. At least with throwing the ball...but I have such a good arm I have hurt people in this game without meaning to." he said,squeezing her hand gently. He shook his hair back again. "So I would HAVE to ease up. After all, I'd never want to hurt my girlfriend!!" He looked toward the other team, realizing Mina was there. Muttering, he said "WHY couldn't she have been in the other class instead of this one?" Chepe looked away from Mina and at Lena standing next to him.

When the Korean boy pulled him over and asked him about the rules of dodge ball, he grinned. "It's actually pretty easy." he said. "The goal is to hit the other team's players with the balls, and to avoid being hit by them. When a ball comes over you throw it at the other team, and when a player gets hit, they have to sit out. The team that still has a player at the end of the game wins. If you catch the ball the person who threw it is out and your team gets a player back." he said. "They lined up the balls there in the grass, see? When she blows the whistle we have to run and get the balls first and start throwing."

Lorilynn had been sorted to the other team, Rebecca noticed. She'll be hard to hit, she thought, considering the white haired girl was a dancer. She considered her teammates and opponents, and only a few people struck her as ones to take out quickly, before they could become worse threats. The Wilder boy was one, and possibly Halwe... Some mousy girl and her brother, ones Rebecca had never really talked to, and the blonde Star-bellied Sneetch didn't look like a challenge at all. The rest she'd have to wait and see how they played. She was almost glad Carson wasn't here, because she felt much more free to move and cause havoc. Sh couldn't wait for the game to start, and her grinning, focused face reflected it easily.

Parting ways with Ah-Gyul Olivia joined her team nodding a greeting to them. “G’day!” They seemed to be lacking in enthusiasm save for a few. Hopefully they wouldn’t drag her team down; Olivia didn’t take to losing well. Saying hello to her team captain –Noah, Olivia glanced towards the group surrounding Miss Goshe. Her first target had originally been Ah-Gyul, but that changed quickly. Almost going blind from one of the twin’s outfits - the sun intensifying the colors she wore. Olivia hoped to take her out first, that way she could at least see properly, knowing that some of the others wouldn’t be going down easily.
